I appreciate that the guardians commentator still gets excited when calling plays even if the play is in the favour of the jays

yeah, i have a lot of respect too. I understand announcers should show somewhat more emotion (both negative & positive) for their team as their audience is large majority local team and are thus emotionally invested much more than the handful of other team viewers. But yeah, some commentators show zero, or like, negative-emotion any time the opposing team does anything positive, let alone score runs...

yeah, that was epic. As a huge hockey fan, huge respect for that effort. Reminds me of players blocking a shot in which they actually get badly hurt (most shot blocks are actually relatively harmless). The most famous example of that for me is the Bruins' Greg Campbell in the 2013 playoffs. His leg is actually broken after the shot and he collapses. But somehow, he slowly gets up, clearly in immense pain, and stays in the play. He actually manages to disrupt the play a couple times on the shift, so we wasn't just a pylon. Annyyyway, so yeah, for Ryu's case, other pitchers would just go down, and stay down, and frankly, I wouldn't blame them for it.

Great pitching duel tonight, but the Jays win again & move to 14 games above .500 on the season... Speedy recovery to Ryu... Hopefully that hard hit ball he took off the leg is nothing serious, & he's able to make his next start in the rotation...
