Our society hasn't changed much. Previously it was Sirisha, now it is Samikshya Adhikari. They'll assassinate the character of any girl even when she's the victim. It was eye opening to look at the reactions of so called educated people towards Samikshya's plight. Those fans who still flood her comment sections with derogatory words are absolutely disgusting human beings. Samikshya Adhikari is a strong person. She's gone through all that and is still facing undeserved backlash but has bounced back in her career. To those of you who are still defending Paul Shah, you might be educated but you have zero empathy and morals.

In a society where victim blaming is prevalent (even now), people show rage and regret only when the victim gives up on their life. Unfortunately, when something similar happens again, they don’t think twice to go back to their toxic trait. As you pointed out, this toxic journalism is catering to what the society seeks. As a child I heard whispers here and there of Shrisha Karki's story. The "taboo" subject was never really spoken about but thanks to Project Kura stories like these have come to light. Stories like these need to be spoken about and heard, maybe then it can have a chance to be addressed.

I've heard about this incident before, but I didn't know the details. It's truly horrifying to even think about. I can't imagine what Sirisha Karki must have been going through. First, she was abused by powerful individuals, and then she faced humiliation from society. I couldn't even bear to look at her picture for more than a second. The fear in her eyes is palpable, and it's heartbreaking that people were harassing her instead of the perpetrator. Nepali society has long been misogynistic, and unfortunately, it seems little has changed. Even today, victims are harassed while the perpetrators often go unpunished. My heart breaks for her; she was only 24 and endured such hell. While I knew the movie industry could be dark, especially for female actors, this is beyond horrendous. May her soul rest in peace, and may the guy who was responsible for all this gets his Karma someday. Thank you for bringing this horrible incident to light.
