Here’s how I do my boba so I don’t have to boil it/make syrup every time: Start water boiling in pot large enough to cook enough boba to last awhile (I did 2 cups of boba) Get another pot and add 1 cup dark brown sugar (add another half cup for a sweeter/thicker syrup, but it won’t freeze completely solid) 1 cup water, and 2 teaspoons tapioca starch. Heat on medium and stir until sugar dissolves. Don’t let it simmer yet, turn down the heat if it gets too hot, but keep it warm. Once boba is almost done boiling (I do 8 minutes because I like mine soft), bring the syrup to a simmer (still make sure it’s not too hot, I’ve never had it burn on me, but be careful and make sure to stir regularly) Strain your boiled boba and add it to the simmering syrup and simmer for 5-8 minutes (I do 8, just try it at different times to see what you prefer). I know it’s Recommended to just simmer them in water and add the sugar after, but I find the boba picks up the flavor of the sugar a lot better if I cook it this way. Turn off the heat, allow it to cool, and pour your boba and syrup into ice cube trays (silicone is best, it’s the easiest to get the cubes out of after) Freeze, if you did the lower amount of sugar you should be able to pop them out and put them in a bag or bin for storage, if you added more, then I would just leave them in the trays to store, as they’re hard to get out in one piece and would turn into a sticky, messy lump if you tried to put them in a bag. When you want boba, just stick a few cubes in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, and you’ve got perfectly cooked and sweetened boba! It took me several tries to perfect this method, so I hope it’s helpful for someone! 😊
Guys for those of you saying “oh the boba is going to taste like nothing add sugar”, she’s diabetic, so she needs to limit her sugar intake Hope that helps
@jojojo895177 ай бұрын

Everyone in the comments is so critical- she didn't call it anything. The product was labeled "blue matcha" but right underneath it says it's butterfly pea flower powder. They just called it matcha because otherwise people might not know how to prepare it (the same way you make matcha). Also she might have used sweetener but left it out because it didn't fit the aesthetic (like if she used a packet of sugar free sweetener or something like that) and she also may have added sweetener after the video was done so she cod actually drink it. These accounts are about aesthetic, not recipes. Calm down, I have never seen an entire comment section so heated over a drink video that doesnt even have voice or text.
