BLUEFISH EXPLOSION - Fine Looking Surf With the Slap Back on Top. Hit the surf this afternoon looking for bluefish. Sea had a fine slap back action I could not resist. Tossed the top water for a whole bunch and missed a nice explosion way out far. Stuck mostly to the topwater lures and a huge explosion on it for a fine blue fish hook up. Casty some nasty for a good while to the dusk, that all the action I needed. Nice.

Good deal! This year has been real slow with the blues only coming in around now with the colder waters. Last year I'd caught about 40 within 3 hours or so, but still hasn't got to that point.

Thx for sharing Jerry. Didn’t do well there last week with seals and dolphins so I moved to the front and been picking up bass from 26.5” to 34” biggest so far of the season. Seal still around there as well.

glad you had fun! bluefishes are amazing...i dont get people trying to take multiple bluefish home tho...they taste okay but the mercury levels are thru the roof ...

I think it was in On The Water Magazine that I read that cilantro is good at removing mercury, the writer said after he was diagnosed with high mercury levels he started eating cilantro at every chance and 6 months later he rechecked his blood and found his mercury levels were close to nothing. I`d eat a bushel of cilantro to be able to eat bluefish. Peace and brother love to you and all.

@@jinsu0504 OK, now you`re breaking my heart, LOL. It`s a shame that so many places are regarded as good fisheries and then you find out the fish are just pretty sacks of poison. I only fish in places that I know are clean but it limits the fishing you can do. I don`t even want my line in polluted waters. Check for Fisheries Dept. they have in Massachusetts a health advisory listing for polluted waters here and the list the pollutants in each pond or other body of water. Wish you the best in your fishing adventures ... stay well and be safe.

I try fishing in waters that are not polluted as there are places called great fisheries and then you find out the fish are just pretty sacks of poison. You should check out your fisheries Dept. for a listing of health warnings of polluted bodies of water and the pollutants in them... we have a listing in Massachusetts. I don`t fish in polluted water as I don`t even want my line in it. Wishing you the best and stay safe.

I hear ya they do have a unique taste. I actually like em but waiting for a fatal hookup to keep one but yea 50lbs of bluefish fillet is a bit much to eat through the week if need not be
