Gabe’s a great story teller, you feel like your there and involved in the story. He and Kelly are both good cook, never pass up a home cooked meal when they are doing the cooking. It’s ok to show losing a fish, makes the rest of us feel normal since most of us lose more that we catch.

So happy for ya Gabe. I have owned nothing but Toyota since 1992. Have had Camrys and Corolla for long commutes back and forth to work. For Truck...several Tacoma and a couple of Tundra. Retired now and don't commute. Only drive back and for the truck for fishing. I have owned many cars and trucks thru my 73 years. Toyota has served me better than any others and hold the best resale value. Yep, thought about an F150 just 5 months ago and decided to go back to another Tacoma.

The Captain was a lot more chill, than in Kelly's video. If tuna jumped, you could brag on how many jumps you got, like with tarpon. They don't all just wind in, as you well know.

My back and arm were getting sore just watching this. What a crazy time trying to fight the Tuna and the sharks too. Real time action forsure.

Gabe have you ever thought about or tried to use techniques from other parts of the country such as bottom bouncers or bottom walkers in saltwater? Like using Ford fenders or flashers like trolling for rainbow trout.

Glad you folks had a lot of fun fishing ahi. Happen to me couple weeks ago. Capt called at noon ahi biting 3 mi. out of the Honokohau harbor. Loaded up the ice & started trolling. Bird pile, ahi jumping like your video. Hanapa'a, 130 shimano 3pm. Landed a 140lb ahi. Went straight in to harbor 4pm. Tight lines

I feel for you Gabe , i lost a 50+ kilo grouper in South Australia a couple of years back the skipper of the charter told me what it was, when i hooked up i went into shock. The power of the fish was unbelievable. It was only on the hook for about 5 mins it seemed for ever and took every bit of energy out of me to the point that in a way i was glad it snapped me off, but then was i pissed man. And yeah i wanted to cry😥

Loosing fish after fish is difficult. But that is a part of the hunting and fish adventure! I would like to see more of these kinds of videos. sure you go out to catch a specific target but don't end up with it. Thats still an Adventure. As I told Kelly on her post, I'm sitting looking at snow about a yard deep in my front yard and I'd love to be bobbing along in the Gulf of Mexico, with a really pretty girl shouting encouragements as I lose 150lb tuna eating at the surface. I mean aside from the frustration and perhaps a cold beer at the dock can you think of a better place to be?,...Cause I'm struggling to. Regardless of how many you may have lost, you have the experience of hooking up with the ocean equivalent of a Clydesdale, and then putting one in the boat!! Then you go and make one of my favourite appetizers, so you have pretty much won the interweb today, Gabe!!

I am glad I am not the only person that saved a hook that you thought was lucky. I landed an 80lb yellow fin in Cabo on 30lb test and a 1/0 mustad circle. I threw on a sardinero and was feeding it out then this back comes out of the water and roll on my bait. My buddy goes yoooooooooooo that was your bait, I’m like oh my god I know I fought that fish for an hour and 45 min. Again fishing a 30 lb outfit not that beast of a rod and reel you were using. So I cut the hook off and I keep it in my tackle box! Do you have an email I can send you a pic of the fish and the hook.
