Is it possible to build one rig that can do it all? John Fury of Fury Training Concepts thinks so. He built a Ram 1500 that is equal parts a reliable daily driver, a capable overland adventure vehicle, as well as a First Responder support vehicle. With an emphasis on functionality without frills you'll see how he prioritizes organization over all else. That doesn't mean it's not a capable rig. 35" tall tires, a heavy duty bumper with winch, a HAM radio, and a snorkel are just a few accessories to remind you that this rig means business. Watch the video for a full walk around and see how this rig is built to do it all without breaking a sweat.

As someone who is working on an offroad/overlanding build on my own Ram 1500, this was very helpful! Thank you.

Definitely appreciate the shared logic behind color coded first aid gear as I have a similar setup

That is one sweet setup! 👍... You've given me some great ideas regarding the color coordination for the emergency kits. I truly like what you've done. Simple & easy! 👍👍

I like that it is a full size truck (but not oversized, that made me laugh because it is true) and the color coding of important kits is something that I do as well. Love the walkaround videos!

Nice video. Like the truck, great mods, but a big thanks for pointing out the safety and first aid gear. It’s kind of been an afterthought for me, and it’s way more important than i considered.

Great build, definitely gives me some inspiration for when I get my own Ram. What led to the choice of covered top vs. the Lietner system? I was looking at that rack as well, but I also live in a rainy area so I'm curious what they didn't like about it.

Nice rig! A Dometic or the like pullout setup is the work around for me, when family isn’t traveling. Thought about right rear passenger, where the fold up is with a possible slide out there.

@@BlueRidgeOverlandGear Basically to run my fridge, a couple LED camp lights and charge my phone. I got a trolling motor box that had 2 cig plugs and I installed a couple usbs and volt meter. I got a victron DC/DC charger to charge while driving and solar for maintaining while parked. I currently have the battery and fridge in the cab in the back seat and that's what I don't like. I want to relocate it to the bed ( like in this video) and just install some plugs and volt meter towards the rear of the bed. Plus I'd like shore power. Just a lot to do. I'm still learning...

I have a 2022 Ram 1500 limited and love it. I would never consider it for an overland heavy duty off road vehicle. It’s ok but the transfer case is not up to par with heavy duty off road abuse. No front locking differential offered and you can’t change the gears without replace the entire front differential. I would go to a Toyota Tundra or Ford raptor to start. I look at my Ram 1500 is a city truck good for occasional towing and mostly just goes to the grocery store. It is super comfortable and luxurious interior. I would never ever take it off road.

This one worked great for Fury for forest roads, some mild off-roading, and as a base camp for first responder needs. It's not necessarily for rock crawling, but he did take it over Bald Mountain here in Virginia, and that's more interesting than your average forest road.

Anyway you could provide a link for the rails or rack needed for the tent to be on your camper shell. Also how would you say the fiberglass hold up with weight on it?

Out of curiosity what's he doing for the spare tire? My 2015 Big Horn won't fit a 35'' tire under bed. Was he able to shoehorn it under there?

Sadly not. And he has since sold the vehicle, so I don't think he has specs on it any more. Check out our other series live right now that goes over electrical components, wiring, and charging. Some good info in there.

Weird question, how do you get so many patches? Is there like a pack you can buy? I like the look of the patches but at $5 each it can get a little pricey!
@BlueRidgeOverlandGear
@BlueRidgeOverlandGear 2 жыл бұрын
Many people collect and trade patches at events. Others do pay for them. However almost all collections are built over many years.
