Go inside the locker room to see how the St. Louis Blues celebrated Nathan Walker's first career NHL hat trick.

Would've been better had someone shouted "Aussie Aussie Aussie" and the boys just ROAR " OI OI OI!" in response and swarm Nathan

Did that guy used to play for the Washington Capitals?! I distinctly remember an Australian who scored for the Capitals and that he was the first Australian to score in the NHL. Is it the same guy?! Anyway, scoring a hat trick is a pretty amazing feat, way to go Nathan Walker!

That's him, first NHL goal deflect off his backside as he turned away from the shot coming from the point. He assisted Alex Chiasson's goal in game 6 against Pittsburgh in the 2018 run for the cup. That was the lone Caps goal of the game until Kuzy scored from Ovie on a breakaway to finally eliminate the Pens. That was Walker's only game in the playoffs too. The Oilers had claimed him on waivers for a couple games that season but the Caps reclaimed him on waivers shortly after. He's been in the Blues system since the start of the 19-20 season. He had three goals in his first 25 games before the hattrick and has scored once in the three games since

As an Australian, it's sad how desperate Australians are to be recognised on the world stage. I remember a recent news article of Matt Damon (an "honorary Aussie") just being in a TAB. It's pathetic.

What are you talking about? It's not like he can't skate and was only put on the team as a publicity stunt to sell tickets or something. If he's good enough to play in the league, which he is, then why shouldn't he play in the NHL? What is he supposed to do, stay and play for the Sydney Ice Dogs in the AIHL his whole life? I'm Canadian, I've watched the AIHL online since finals weekend 2012 (Go Ice!) so I never seen him play for the Dogs but I've known guys who've gone down there to play so why shouldn't Aussies come here to play if they are good enough to play the level? There's a really good 16 year old from New Zealand named Jacob Carey who's playing academy hockey in Canada right now, I'm sure you think he's just trying to get New Zealand recognized on the world stage too eh and not play the highest level hockey he can to better his skills and pursue hockey as a future career. Or how about Anze Kopitar, the second of only three players from Slovenia to play in the NHL, the first of which only played one game (likely more of a publicity stunt) and the third guy played 46 games

@@chrismac5560 I've never seen someone miss the point with so many words before. I never said he wasn't good enough to play.

@@joels4826 if what you said doesn't apply to Walker then why are you commenting it on a video of Walker? If I wanted to say Canadians are desperate to put their country on the world soccer stage I wouldn't be commenting on a video of Alphonso Davies who is actually good at soccer and deserves to be where he is, I would comment it on some 50 year old's crappy "trick shot" video who thinks he's good at soccer and thinks Canada is a soccer nation
@joels48262 жыл бұрын
@@chrismac5560 It applies to the reaction to Nathan Walker (A Welsh born player) scoring a hat-trick by Australians. It has more to do with BS nationalism than it does Walker's hockey skill. Davies is a beast btw. But I don't see Canadians going onto every Bayern Munich video commenting "Hey, look at Canada!!!"
