Hey Kley. Jonathan here. Awesome analysis!! I don't know why this schematic shows a 1500pf cap in C9. The amp comes with C9 blank. That's actually the "sparkle" mod. By adding a cap I reversed it. 10000pf was all I had so I just tried it. It was pretty drastic but I think improved it. I will definitely experiment with removing it try caps in the other locations you mentioned.

This was super helpful. Comparing this and your original video, I think I diagnosed a previous owner replacing the wrong capacitors in my (new to me) Blues Jr. III. I'm 90% sure he meant to replace C2/C8 (like you suggest here), but he replaced C1 (like the original circuit) and C4 (this one I have no clue).

To clarify, if I clip one leg of the C3 cap on my 2015 made in Mexico Blues Jr. III, if this all I need to do to take it out of the circuit?

Hey Klee. I was just looking at the Blues Jr IV schematic and they changed C4 from 22uf to 2.2uf, any thoughts, you suggest 0.047uf for more of a mid boost. I’m leaning closer to 0.1 or 0.047. Also considering putting C3 on a switch and or lower the value too. Also what’s your thoughts on using these two combinations or are they similar? Ben Thx for the tone calculator link.

Hi , I’m a Harp player I recently bought a 1980 pro shop blues junior Two Tone with 1/12” & 1/10” 15/watts I gigged with it last week and was disappointed with my volume are you familiar with this model and would you know how I can get more volume out of this amp it seems to me like it should be much louder than it is Do you have any suggestions? I’ve played other jr’s and didn’t get covered up by the band

Let me point out that the numbers you entered for the tone stack calculator are not correct. 0.022uF is 22nF and not 220nF. No offense. Like your videos :-)

If you are a bedroom player, warm it up maybe. If you’re in a band, you want it to cut through and you could make it less capable in that environment. Of course, it also depends on the music style and band characteristics. Also will highly depend on the places the band plays. Way too many variables that the guitarist can’t control.
