You should be able to find the key on a x3 on the back, take the cover off on the left hand side. There you should see the code.

I have a 2004 330ci zhp e46 and this did not work. I do know the password though and their are Bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel, my phone (Iphone 7) does not see that car as a connection, and it isn't the phone because i have connected it to Bluetooth on many other things.
