Tom Dwan, aka Durrrr, is well known for hyper aggression and running insane bluffs on tv poker shows like High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark. However, Viffer also has a reputation for being unpredictable and making unorthodox plays. When they butt heads over a swelling cash game pot, it's anyone's guess as to who will come out on top.
As always on Poker Hands, Doug breaks down each street of action and shares his thoughts on how each player made their decisions.

As a heads up guys, I have decided to stop posting on Sunday's. It gets way less viewership then videos on all of the other days, I think there is just too much to compete with on that day. So we are moving over to a 6 days a week schedule. Forgive me lord, for I have thinned (my video schedule).

Hey Doug, I have a follow up question from what you were saying about different plays being okay. In this spot, you justified it by saying the spot was really close. Is it the case that despite this, you think there is ultimately a correct play, but that the other options are so marginally less profitable that it's negligible, and that no one could reasonably hope to consistently get it exactly right in such a close spot? It feels like this has to be the case with poker ultimately being a zero-sum game. A chess player who considers two different moves to be okay in certain spots will always lose to a perfect AI, for example.

I love poker and this commentary. Love getting all the stats and info. I go to a small table home game and have pocket Aces and Raise the BB to double. UTG +2 call and SB 3 bets. I call and so does UTG + 1. Their hands? 7s4d and Js10s. I lost the hand to a random flush. But the difference, I didn't go all in just because I had ACES and the Flop was 3 Spades. Allowed me to temper my hand where in the past I may have gone in before the FLOP. In the end I learned, its still a random game and to go to the top level you have to get lucky with nothing sometimes. And sometimes you need to assess the range of those you are playing against more then anything.

Love your stuff Doug. Just think It's worth mentioning in the range analysis on the turn Tom can have an Ace if he check/raises A high flush draws. Not worth much after he bets though as I think people would check with weak AhXh (and 3 bet pre with strong As). Did you ever play on UB (many years ago)? I think I remember a person I used to play against with a name similar to WCGRider but I might be wrong. P.S. pray for australian poker

Not sure I like Viffer's bluff with exactly 9h2h, because it blocks both flush draws and straight draws, which are Dwan's most probable bluff combos. It would be sweet though if he shoved and Dwan decided to call it off with 6h5h.

I see, makes sense thanks. I was actually in Macau this time of the year last year. Played the 50/100 and 100/200 HKD at the Wynn for a week. Unfortunately the biggest games they were running there were 300/600 HKD and I think 500/1000 once. Obviously I'm assuming this is the open/public "big game", not the private super high stakes that the top pros/businessmen are playing in. Any idea where that big game is being hosted at now? (not that I'd ever play in there, just out of curiosity, since there was basically only poker at the Wynn and Venetian when I went, discounting the crappy small games at galaxy lol)

Hi Doug, I was kinda surprised to see you not understand what Ben meant by "I hate people looking like you". You are an expert on Poker and since you have been so kind to the community and sharing your knowledge about poker, and since I'm an expert on human psychology( all poker players should be but you are an online guy and don't talk on tables but that's another story ). I would like you to explain you what Ben meant, that got you so confused and broke your heart ( I dont mean it in a bad way). I can explain you what Ben meant and please dont get heated up, it's nothing personal. You try to have an "alpha male" look. Your hair up like this is totally alpha male wannabeism. You also seem to have big arms which means that you also want to look big, you don't seem really excercised like a good athelete just arm boosted, probably some proteins and god knows what, which anyones that understands basic animal/human instict psychology is just another noob alpha-male wannabism attempt. Many people do these things ontheir self unconsiously because they think they look good and are happy with how they look but the instict and the original reason behind it is that you want to show dominance. Anyone that really values and both understands the human psyche looks down to those cheap attempts to win the "look/Im an alphamaleboss/my sperm will survive/I look good/egofull". In fact, most smart nonego people, will look down to people that spend time with their appereance and will be just be happy to be clean and in healthy-excercised body state. Generally speaking, egofull people try to look like that because they "suck" pleasure out of their self feeling good, it is just a closed-minded fake-approach to true happiness. Sorry for my English, I am Greek. I totally respect you and I really appreciate your hand analysis. But i have to say that young people today know so much things about one thing that they lose the bigger pictures and that's why many poker pros are not happy, because happiness is not about money or winning hands, it's about studying your psyche, that's the only way to be happy. This is coming from a guy who has lots of money too but not 10m like you hehe but I don't more money than I make :) Spending more and more time on learning something more and more specific, in the end, you learn everything about nothing. Study yourself and the human/animal psychology and insticts. Thanks for listening and all the respect in the world :) Just someone

Bad turn barrel, as much as I'm a fan of Tom's playing style. Dwan's representing a decent king like KT on the flop, but the ace on the turn should've ended the bluff (as Doug explained). Dwan would've 3bet an ace preflop for value, especially given that they are playing 3-handed and its strength is so high relative to what the btn is opening. While Dwan maybe flats aces from the blinds some % of the time and looks to trap on ace-high flops and get value from c-bets repping the ace, he wouldn't turn a hand with good showdown value like ace-high into a bluff on the flop. Very intelligent play from Viffer, playing his range which got much stronger on the turn. I think Dwan wasn't quite thinking it through or underestimated Viffer a little.

doug, why would tom lead out on the turn into the A? It seems like it would be better to check shove or check call w his hand. Viffer will bet the ace a lot w air, but its too easy for him to shove over toms bet. What hands is he going to get Viffer to flat or fold w his turn bet?

some facial contortions he used to pull off, his upper jaw facing east and the lower jaw facing west. he was out of his face on cocaine. He retired from poker, too many losses

Hi Doug, Thanks for this anylysis. I just wanted to point out that I think you are too soft on Dwan's turn bet. I understand him wanting to bet here considering he has no showdown value at all and wants to rep strong. But on this card, checking to protect your range gives you much more options and that especially against a player very "move-friendly" like Viffer, you're just gonna get punished too much when you bet. So I'd call that turn bet a mistake.

I dont understand the Dwan could never have a A or K, confused

If Dwan had AK he would have raised pre flop.Actually he would have probably raised with any decent A or K. If he had AX then it's unlikely he would have raised the flop. So he never really had a n A here.
HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?
