It's literally a song about someone justifying genocide/eugenics. It talks about how life is cruel and unpredictable, how that is a sad truth that you must accept, how you must be strong to fight against this, and then slips in that sinister analogy that you have to pluck all wilted flowers to get beautiful wreath. It reflects what's going on in the show where they run a school where everyone is in constant competition to get the most powerful people to the top and cull the weak ones.

It's crazy how they managed to sneak all of that in through layers of translations and symbolism, all to give the single most Present anime antagonist a shockingly blatant and intimidating form of foreshadowing. Kill La Kill is an amazing anime that somehow flourished with next to no budget

Lisann K How so? It's not really "offensive." Nazis surely were in the wrong in eyes of many, but he/she is referring to the feeling it gives off. Though it may be wrong to correlate the words german and nazi, I assume there was no offense meant behind it.

@@lucidd_world5586 Lucidd_ World I mean I am not really offended by it, but they did literally say it is Nazi-esque, just because the language is german. I know that for obvious reasons the image of Nazis is strongly bound to Germany( especially when you think about Hitler) , but the problem is that the Japanese accent is so strong in the song that even Germans can't understand the lyrics. I know that many songs try to create the feeling that a song is Nazi-esque feeling by using German in the lyrics or making it sound german, but this song just doesn't sound German at all. So I think it could rather be taken as offensive.

This song always sounded to me more like Ragyo taunting Satsuki. The lines "For the first time in forever you're alive, don't you forget that," "Cruel and wicked life, how it hurts you deep inside; Cold and vicious life, how you wish to make it right," "Will you stand and fight, for the war has just begun, and there's nowhere left to run," all give it that kind of cruel, sarcastic connotation to me. All the imagery about planting gardens, wilting flowers, wiping away tears... yeah. That's super creepy and horrible coming from Ragyo. Telling Satsuki that she's got the power in her hands, well, I guess even evil rapist moms want to encourage their kids. But I like Sapphire's interpretation too. The Life Fibers just want us to look fabulous! There's nothing to fear, nothing at all.

It just occured to me. "A floral crown for you my dear" Is that implying that where Ragyo was encouraging her daughter to flourish, other dreams and lives were merely harvested and collected as a token for the chosen? This translation is ever so helpful in understanding the symbolism of this song.

Hey everyone, thanks for watching! I've seen a few comments calling the song very 'optimistic.' It's a Life Fibers brain-washing song, so yes, I suppose you have to sound optimistic when you're trying to convince someone to join your army so they can take over the world for you. You can think of this as the Life Fibers' first meeting with Ragyo, telling her 'you're the only one who can change this world.' Which is kind of messed up since everyone else in the show is fine with the world they live in. You have to be nice, how else is anyone supposed to join your cult? Hope that makes sense.

Nah, show says you get more power the more the kamui covers you, which is why ryoko's covers so little, since it's designed to ensure the wearer retains control, whereas junketsu covers a lot more, so it gives the wearer more power, but is harder to control, and finally, ragyo's who is already one with the life fibers, wears a really big kamui that covers her almost completely, so she gets even more power, and the control doesn't matter since the life fibers are already controlling her. We also see this when ryoko's wearing junketsu and being controlled it covers even more than it usually does for satsuki.

I didn't interpret these lyrics in a negative way, but I can certainly see how it can be seen as such. It's one of those songs that can be viewed in multiple ways and no one would technically be wrong.

Holy shit, the combination of your incredible voice and the word choice for the lyrics is PERFECT for what is the theme of Ragyo. A deadly concoction of beauty and eeriness with a dash of power. I had no idea this song was tied to Kill la Kill. I found this song by accident and my brain actually attached it to Horizon Zero Dawn with the thought of how it matches how Aloy had to constantly prove herself to those around her that she was much more than they ever thought her to be. Oops lol

This is a very, very great rendition. Most translated songs sound out of sync with the original rhythm of the song, but this... You made it fit almost perfectly.

When I heard this in bits and pieces you released, I wasn't sure how much your interpretation would rope me in. Yes, I guessed that from the title. I mean she has a very distinct voice in the way that Utada was the voice of Kingdom Hearts. And that I could imagine a new franchise in which Sapphire sings the main title theme and it reaches the same level of notoriety.

If you're wondering why she keeps mentioning flowers in Bluemenkranz in the anime is sung in german and Bluemen means flowers in german and Kranz means wreath so it's summed up as a propaganda song with the agenda the Flowers referring to someone who i think is nui harime because she is Associated with flowers as we clearly see and the Wreath or Cover in this matter is Ragyo evidence for this is well *Cough* Covers *Cough* also using Covers in an everyday term a to put something over, on top of, or in front of (something else) especially in order to protect, hide, or close it. : to be spread over or on top of (something). so to simplify that its a song about Ragyo being the "Cover" over Nui the flower or in our case "Life Fibers." lets break down the name Nui means to stitch Hari means Needle and me is used in a sense like third avenue so we can sum this up to Nui being the Stitcher of the blanket if so then we cant do this without breaking down Ragyo's name means Nude shape or Nude Doll kind of anticlimactic considering she was against Nudist Beach and is always saying clothing is the ultimate or something like that yet she and her children dress up like Exhibitionist ja? (Ja means yes in german get it Bluemenkranz is sung in german) and Kiryuin can be summed up as Dragon so she is the Covered Dragon kind of fits her role in the beginning she was playing off her strength but anyone notice when she asked nui to sacrifice herself the gained the most power so she was Uncovered which matches the tone of the Episode when everyone was Unveiling and Releasing they're full potential *Cough* Elite four *cough* Nudist Beach *cough* Anyways thats just how i sum up this song in a much more complicated way if you dont understand to simplify it The song and Ragyo and Nui's personality can be broken down due to they're names this goes deep into a bigger theory but i will do that sometime later

Wow, it's hard to find good covers of anime music but this is INCREDIBLE! I just finished KLK last night, stayed up until four this morning and cried almost the whole way through. Through the show, this song caught my attention and ive been hooked to it, and I am delighted to hear it have such a gorgeous cover as well, well done!!!

Usually I'm all about hating on english covers. Bad audio editing, terrible mixing or a plain lack of singing ability. But this, on the the hand, isn't terrible at all. Good job.
