About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

That’s what makes them so great; how versatile they were. I prefer them over other britpop bands from the time, simply because they have more to offer. More styles, genres and sounds. It’s something very important in artists to me, that they don’t just do the same thing over and over.

The constant media debate in the 90s about who was better, Blur or Oasis, was never really a fair one. For me, it was always more about exactly how much better Blur were. This song is a perfect example of why they were better.

I got into Blur first but I give Oasis the edge. They simply have many more great songs than Blur. One plus for Blur is I think their music sounds more diverse, maybe because they experimented with different musical styles more than Oasis did. This song is a great example.

This is my all time favorite song of mine gives me a sweet pain a nostalgia that's sickly sweet to look back on. Reminds me of the journey i've had and all the things and people i left behind. All the passing fancies, hobbies, people, creations, shows, and experiences i've had certainly a song i'd have played at my funeral.
