About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

I always thought that, on certain songs, Damon Albarn channeled David Bowie, consciously or otherwise, vocally, and probably never more so than on parts of this song. Not that that's a bad thing or anything, of course, and he still managed to have his own sound simultaneously.

I saw the beginnin of oasis and blur (42), but dont worry dude, music is timeless, dont have regrets, just enjoy your musical taste. I love The beatles, i was not born when they sang, but, my father made me listen to them, and thanks to that I listen today bands like blur oasis arctic monkeys...ect...and many other musical styles. 'As soon as they started singing (the choir), it was instantly and obviously a number one record. I'd never been so certain of anything. It was the best thing we'd ever done. I've noticed that Damon and Graham are facing each other while playing "Tender" and singing their respective parts to each other. Despite barely functioning as friends, band mates and while using substances(Damon-heroin, Graham-alcohol)at that time, they made great music together then and they make great music together now.

David Rowntree may not be the best technical drummer, but he's pretty creative with getting exactly the sound he wants, which is really much more important than funky beats and insane fills.

one of their best moments. I know i'm late but i agree that is wonderful to see Graham Coxon laughing so hard he has to stop singing for a few seconds. The only time i saw Blur in concert is still one of my best gigs.

This song is sad. I feel Damon’s pain and heartbreak. He truly loved the person he was with before but it ended. He was trying to get through his pain and trying to find a way to reconcile but it never worked and was too late

I think my favorite thing about Graham is that his singing voice never really changes. I'm saying this in a good way- Damon's voice has changed quite a bit since his blur/early gorillaz days, i've noticed, but Graham's barely ever has.

I remember being in Okinawa in the Marine Corps and one of the guys left this cassette in our government vehicle. I had to drive up and down the island delivering OkiMars, the base newspaper, from Camp Butler down to Camp Kinser to Futenma, to Courtney, Hansen & Schwab. This cassette was playing continuously the entire night. Get back, turn in the gov ride and head to PT with maybe two hours sleep. Beetlebum was my favorite song on that album.
