Leodis Flowers and Scott Baldwin. Now those are two of the less heralded Nebraska I-backs from yesteryear. I remember this game. Much tougher than originally anticipated. At 1:27:12 Scott Baldwin looks so much like Eric Dickerson--tall, long-legged with long strides, prominent neck roll and even shares the same jersey number: #29. GBR!

Leodis Flowers quit the team and didn't return for his Senior year in 1991. Never understood why. Baldwin was sadly shot and paralyzed in a bizarre incident. I really thought he was going to have a great career. He was just a Redshirt Sophomore in 1990. Keithen McCant should have started a Quarterback in 1990 and we would have been in allot better shape. McCant should have been at least a 2 year starter. Much better passer then Micky Joseph was and a very good runner as well. I always thought Micky was the starter in '90 passed strictly on potential, and not because he deserved to be. Yeah, Joseph had blazing speed, but McCant was no slowpoke. Mike Grant was like a Full-Back playing quarterback.

Another young I- back on this team was Redshirt Sophomore George Achola. I liked George allot and really wanted him to get more playing time. Still think he could have been a big time player. Whenever he got the chance to play, he delivered. He and Leodis were part of the same recruiting class in 1988 out of Omaha. Flowers from Central and Achola from Creighton Prep. Remember that Leodis was very heavily recruited by Oklahoma in High-School.

Baldwin with a leap from the 4 yard line into the end zone, awesome. Too bad his life to such a bad turn. If only he could have been around a bit later in 1993/94, he would have been behind a couple of great lines.

Grant running the offense really well, and Omar Soto scored really easily on the trap, only to be called back because of a penalty. Soto was a good Fullback.

Even though Nebraska didn't have that good of a team in 1990, those were still the good ole days for me since so many people I cared about were still alive then.

crazy how many times Baylor loses fumbles and refs don't see it
@AP-hp1rq3 жыл бұрын
no doubt; I counted 2 possibly 3 legit fumbles that were not called that should've been Husker ball

The Huskers draw penalties about half the time they audible.

That was a horrible game by both teams. I need a shower after watching that.

LOL! I agree, especially the Huskers that was just horrible. They are lucky they won. The defense did just enough to win.
