The 2.5k is definitely on my GAS bucket list. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for one.

I personally love the form factor. The extra weight is great for smooth steady-cam shot or even handheld. I actually like it a lot more than the DSLR design of the BMPCC4K

The BMCC make me love shooting handled. I forget a6400 because of this camera, even in low light. I mostly shoot music videos.

I purchased my BMCC 2.5K EF in 2014 and am only now (2023) starting to use it! I bought the BM Video Assist 5" 3G external monitor and a Sigma 35mm f1.4 lens. It doesn't matter to me that the camera is "out of date." I love the stout build, and the image quality has a well-deserved reputation for being uniquely wonderful. I'm very happy with the choice I made nine years ago.

So I have this camera in the 4K version. I’m trying to figure out monitor solution. Since it’s an SDI input, do you think I should get the aid to hdmi converter? Would it be easier just to use if viewfinder. It is running gun for protest.

It comes down to your budget, but honestly the SDI to HDMI converters often create a bit of a signal lag. Fotga has some cheap monitors with SDI or you could get a Blackmagic video assist. For a viewfinder the Zacuto Gratical has both SDI and HDMI input and is very good quality. A bit pricy, but can be found used on eBay or Adorama for under $700.

What external battery did you use for the cinema camera?

what is the battery time like compared to OG and 4k pocket? what is the screen like, how clearly can one see on this one when out n' about? is this also using 4/3 micro lenses? How many minutes will one get on that battery in the video here? thanks for anyone that got experience that can help me compare to the OG and 4k pocket..

The native battery on any of these cameras is not good-you should always use an external batter with any of these. Especially the 2.5k though because the internal battery cannot be swapped out. Without an external battery adapter you will only get about 20 minutes of use from these cameras.

@@WillvonTagenI believe someone modified the battery in one of these and with modern batteries you can get almost 2 hours internally. It's not that hard to do

Disassemble the camera and swap the battery for longer a lasting one.

any recommendations on a Gimbal?

Not really, they’re all more or less the same. You’ll save with an older ronin. This is probably too big for the SC, however.

What is that external battery you’ve got mounted to the top????
@WillvonTagen Жыл бұрын
I believe that’s just the standard Smallrig NPF adapter 👍🏻
