Hi Nuno, yes I did, using a 24mm socket / ratchet on the Alternator. Using a normal e torx 14mm socket and 3/8 ratchet on the H/P Fuel Pump bolt. Very little room at the back of the pump to gain good leverage, damaged my knuckles when the socket slipped off the bolt. I also put the car in first gear. I have ordered a battery impact ratchet today to hopefully spin the bolt off. 🤞🤞🤞

Great little video, I think the bolt on your tool is to push the pump off the shaft instead of tapping it (admittedly it was a dead pump, so doesn't matter)

Hi Nuno, Can I please check the Black rear bolt (e-torx 14mm) removal process when removing the pump, there seems to be conflicting information? Remove plastic cover Engage first gear or use a 24mm socket / ratchet to lock the Alternator (Flywheel can be locked at TDC if you have the flywheel locking pin) Completely remove the Black rear bolt with e-torx head from the H/P Fuel Pump gear (some videos do not show this bolt being removed)? Insert locking tool to lock the gear in place Undo all the threaded bolts including the rear one Pull the pump off with tapered shaft attached Keyway key stays in the H/P Fuel Pump gear Realign the new pump keyway to the same position as the original - the H/P Fuel Pump gear will still be locked into position with the gear locking tool Insert new H/P Fuel Pump ensuring the keyways are still aligned Tighten the pump bolts including the rear bolt Remove the gear locking tool Insert and tighten the rear e-torx 14mm bolt and tighten to 65nm Attach pipework / electrical connections Please can you confirm if this is the correct procedure?

the problem is that the diesel pump is in front of the engine and not in the back of the tank as in other cars, when you change the fuel filter you have to start the installation to get the diesel to the pump otherwise your pump will run empty and make your filings and use standard disel no aditives etc etc

Hi need help to replace this HPFP on a N47 2.0 f10 520d engine. I've cracked off bolt holding pump through sprocket loose, but the holding tool works loose everytime when loosening the bolt. It goes tight and loose wondering maybe need to knock out pump first then loosen bolt at a time and check tool is tight. Thanks

Hi Nuno fix Am having a issue with a Bmw n47 fuel pump car started fine needed four injectors so changed them took out fuel delivery valve out of side of pump to check for operation now ac got a no start with 12 bar pressure at the rail I need 299 bay pressure how do I bleed the pump please

I have a question. So I replaced the high pressure pump and cleaned the fuel thank also the injectors but still no pumping pressure to the injectors and yes the low pressure pump works

Hello Nuno, great videos bro :) I have little problem, I installed a new high pressure fuel pump but instead of aligning the pump shaft, I rotated the crank pulley, and I continue the same process as you did , priming the pump with delphi for several times to remove the bubbles, it turned out there was no fuel coming to the common rail. the high pressure fuel pump doesnt give me fuel when cranking. PS the low pressure fuel pump works great, tested! what do you think I did wrong?

you can also remove the high pressure pump in the first gear?

If sprocket is out of alignment would you have to retime the engine my friend or move with special tool? just a theoretical question

Hi, great video, thanks. I'm getting low pressure on fuel rail through diagnostics on 2008 120D N47. The car starts after a good few cracks, and idles perfectly all day as long as I don't touch the accelerator. When I drive, it gets limp mode, low power warning on dash, and cuts out. Could this be the HPFP?

Should have bought pump first And fit same day around 130 exchange at Euro car parts cheap just did my 3.0 td x6 just pay a small surcharge

I have just replaced my 120d fuel pump but now I have air in fuel system I have already bled the system through BMW Dis software , but as soon as I start driving it shows p0088 which is high pressure in rail and then it cuts out and then start after too much struggle and throws p0087 which low pressure on this indicates low fuel pressure so I have both high and low which makes me think air in the system ? Please help how to take the air out ? And bleed it fully ? Already tried through BMW software but not helping

I have almost the same problem crank and start after awhile then cut off, i checked the injectors and relay there is no metal inside, i got issue on dashboard Fuel pump fault, it was a littel metal on deisel tank, could be the pump on deisel tank? when i crank the deisel come out from nut injectors i checked all of them.what do you think? thanks

Bro your supposed to wind in the bolt on the timing tool it's to extract the pump off the gear easy simple and no damage that's what the bolt in the timing tool is for to extract the pump you should not be banging things with a hammer
