Great video -thanks. The guitar was excellent too. In reply to stig - chains need constant oiling and throw crap everywhere - shaft drives - change oil every 20,000k and they are clean - a no brainer.

Witaj....W moim RT-ku jest wszystko tak samo jak na ty filmiku ..sporo się z niego dowiedziałem i dzięki temu wszystko robię sobie w moim moto sam .....no prawie wszystko...regulację zaworów zlecę tylko mechanikowi z serwisu ...resztę już mam gotowe Z początku się trochę obawiałem że nie dam rady....ale strach minął po pierwszych paru minutach jak nabrałem pewności siebie ...bo od tego trza zacząć . W RT-ku jest więcej ,,plastiku" do zdjęcia zanim zacznie się cokolwiek robić . Mam to już za sobą . Zrobiłem wymianę świec zapłonowych , oleju w skrzyni biegów i kardanie , oleju w silniku plus filtr , klocki hamulcowe na obu kółkach , filtr powietrza i wymianę płynu hamulcowego z przodu i tyłu . Na tę chwilę mam motor gotowy na kolejne 40 tys km .... a serwis w ASO kosztuje krocie . Dzięki za cenne wskazówki odnośnie dokręcania śrub kluczem dynamometrycznym . Właśnie taki zakupiłem i jestem mega zadowolony . Pozdrawiam i jeszcze raz dziękuję .

This was lovely, I have an oil leak from the seal in the final drive and I need to top up the oil, this showed me how. Thanks!

jeśli nie masz problemu to nie wymieniaj oleju w pompie sprzęgła. jeśli chcesz to zrobić z racji serwisu to jest olej hydrauliczny, taki jak w siłownikach, a NIE płyn hamulcowy. Tak więc lepiej trzymaj sie oryginału. Wlewasz 180ml , jest to ilość zalecana przy wymianie (bo zawsze trochę zostaje po zlaniu. ja wlewam 200 ale dodatkowo podgrzewam przekładnię do temp. pracy. Korek wlewowy jest o nieokreślonej pozycji więc NIE może być wyznacznikiem poziomu.

Well, first check for free-play on the bearings. Mostly its the reason of oil dripping . It might be the pressure too. Try to open the drive on the ABS sensor when its warm after a long trip and let the pressure off. If that don't help You have to change the seal.

I am new to final drive oil change what is the interval ? Also why add oil thru what appears to be a sensor and not thru the allen plug clearly visible on the outside of the drive . Beautiful video i love he conversation and the sub titles very nice OH Stig if you never had a shaft drive bike you dont know what your missing .

Hi, as the problems with "how much oil| were caused by high pressure when warm, the idea is to make oli warm before You seal the drive. that way when in use and warm, the pressure will be lower.

First of all please let me tell you: thank you so much for your videos! :)Me and my Father, we have followed your tutorials for mainteinance since 2010, when we purchased a sweet R1200GS MY'08. Now (about 40000Km) the final drive of our GS is starting to drip few drops of oil ( 1 drop every 150Km); we think that someday we'll have to replace the lipseal (the one under black knurled cover). Do you have any suggestion? Thank you! ;)

Hi rodrigues... familly with "sugerman"?? I recommend a castrol synthetic gear oil, whatever you find for differentials. Heat gun is to get the working temperature of drive. When You seal it i cools and have a lower pression. When it works it heats and have a zer4o pressure. The pressure problem forced BMW to put less oil ( 180 instead of 220ml... i put 200ml + heat gun)).

This movie is made on a "no-drainplug-version". If You have the drain-plug its more simple. The main idea is to lower the pressure.
