This is a very good detailed video. I would like to say that the newest eonon (cheaper one $250) has addressed the slow boot times and removed the eonon logo from the bottom. Boot now is now within 1 sec.

Good video man. I wish someone had a video of how to run the extension harness for an e46 with factory nav. Debating on how to run the extension harness; either through the back seats, back sill plate, B pillar, front sill plate and so on..or through the center console.

Great explanation, really appreciated the details of removing all the dash components, very helpful. My 2002 E46 (Australia) may have trouble with the plugs, for example if it doesn’t have the 4 extra pins in the 40 pin plug behind the head unit, I cant use this unit. Also my unit is the GPS unit (no radio, GPS screen and air unit already moved down) and I haven’t found a KZfaq video on that one yet. Maybe you know of one. Appreciate your time and trouble on this video. Thank you - John

Just a quick tip to everyone: those red clips have to be turned 90 degrees when removing and installing. Best way to do that is to insert a big enough flat head inside the hole and use it to twist them without damage

Thanks for the thorough install details. I have been trying to get that climate control to relocate with no extra parts as a particular vendor selling a very similar unit claims can be done. I had the exact issues as you. Yes it fits but not like factory. I will look into the bracket you mention. Can you change the time on the unit itself? If so, since it is CAN BUS does the dash change? My knob in the dash isnt working ;-)

Great video! I feel better that I can actually do this myself. I have an e46 with Harmon Kardon. Everything I've found so far tells me I have to get a separate extension to route to the trunk. Seems like quite a pain so I was wondering if you knew of any alternatives, if there is a different adapter or if it will actually work similarly to the plug in your video?

@19:43 Snaking the Microphone cable. I bet a thin Hemostat ($5 on Amzn) would help get cable in from right to left behind glove box opening. But man! I haven’t priced-out what BMW dealership would charge, but if I save my pennies that’s how I’m gonna go. This was amazing to watch though. Who knew BMW used all those common connections even for my 22 y/o 3 Series which I still love. All I can say is WOW…. Can I hire anyone beside a BMW tech to do this? Amazed!

Hello! I know it has been a while since you made this video, so I hope I can get some advise from you regarding type of sound system to install in my 2004 e46. The system you installed is a EONON look nice and in harmony with the rest of the dashboard in this car and you made it seemed uncomplicated to install. Other than this EONON, what other brand would you advise to install, trying to keep the looks and easy to install? What is your opinion on the Alpine brand. I appreciate greatly any suggestions you can make to help me upgrade the system in my car. Thank you for sharing your videos, great job!

Well done install video. I looked at your channel and didn't see the corresponding review video. Do you have one? In particular: * How long does it take to boot from key-on? * How well does the built-in microphone work? There are reports of very low sensitivity. Also curious about how well it cancels road noise for people on the other end. * How well does bluetooth work? In particular, does the unit sync fairly quickly with both Android and iPhone when it starts up? Do you have to do anything on the phone or headset to sync, once you've gotten it to work once? * How well does Google Maps work? Does this grab data from your phone's cell connection over Bluetooth, or do you have to plug in via USB? * How well does making phone calls work? In particular, can you say "hey Google, call mom" and have it dial hands-free? * There are no screws at the bottom of the bezel. How well does the unit sit flush in the car after a few months/years? * Did you install the tire pressure sensors? If so, do they work? * Is iPhone CarPlay or Android Auto useful in any way? Is either making calls or using the map easier when using these things?

I found it easier to route the cable up the A pillar, by removing the instrument cluster. Just remove the two screws on the top, pull the cluster out a little, and undo the connectors and it removes as one unit which leaves a huge gaping hole so you can route the cables. There is a small but useable entrance from the bottom of the A pillar area into the instrument cluster area where I poked my wire through.

nice video love it ,i do not want to remove my a pillar though i wonder if i can make better solution and use a cheap bluetooth mic ,bluetooth chips and modules are dirt cheap you think that they would have an option for a wireless install option for the mic to get it in the factory position , there must me a switched 12v + wire under the mic panel somewhere you could use to get the bluetooth mic to switch on with the car

so the cam bus adapter is included in the kit, or is it something i gotta buy separately?

Please show us how to make the tpms=tire pressure monitor system readings appear on screen as well as if there's a function of choosing your car diagram

yo how's your GPS work with that positioning? i did this recently and my first test drive it was total shit, jumpin all over the place not sure of where my car was on Waze, spazzing out telling me to turn around / traveling in reverse lol - you wind up reworking your gps location?

How was the reception of the gps and WiFi antennae mounted where you had them?

Does the HVAC vents mess with the GPS where you stuck it where you did? Like if it's too hot when using heatIng?

Man, you should look at the Xtrons 9" screen. It is identical to this system, but with a much bigger and better screen, and Android 8.0 instead of 7. I also have an E46, and use to have this same Eonon Head Unit. But it will give you problems with switching functions without you touching anything. So I switched to the Xtrons Head Unit. Much nicer system all the way around. And my music sounds so much better as well. It's called the PE9846BPL by Xtrons. And it's cheaper by 70+ dollars.

What head lights do you have? Do you like them? Also, does the Bluetooth ever drop and can you watch videos with the sound like youtube?
