learnt something new today,,, mine is rwd so it is bit different, all goes to the drive axle vs trailing arm on yours, had to watch over and over again one part because I got stupid for a moment 😂😂😂

Well done! We must have done ours at the same time! I spent about a day and half getting mine done in the end. Rounded a couple of driveshaft bolts going into the diff when taking out the driveshaft but managed to knock a smaller socket on to loosen them. Then trying to get the outer race off the hub with the bearing splitter. What a bleedin faff! Still i love working on my cars as a hobby but this nearly finished my back off 😭 Good job mate 👍🏻
After all that work u used the old rusty bults and that tired calliper. Thanks for the video doe

It is a shame but they where still in working order and as it’s a budget build I’m only replacing parts that are broken or to be upgraded 😊

A VERY fine smear of copper on the BACK of the pad will stop any potential brake squeal. (Only if the pad doesn’t have a special coating already)

Pull the handbrake up a couple of times to position the shoes before doing the ratchet adjustment.

Awesome video. Thanks for the knowledge! I was curious about replacing a dust shield. Would I have to bleed the breaks if I were to replace the dust shield?
@bradytruezero87392 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏 and no need to bleed the brakes when changing the dust shield 👍

Is it a bad idea instead of removing the hub so the dust plate can come off, to cut the dust plate just enough so it can slide out from the side and do the same thing to the new dust shield?
@bradytruezero87393 жыл бұрын
That is one way of doing it, the downside to that is where you cut will need to be sprey Ed to prevent rust, my car needed the bearing replacing so done the both the same time 😊

1:17 Where's the rotor?? How did you get the rotor off with the calliper in place???? Were you driving around with no rear brakes? What's that all about?
@bradytruezero87397 ай бұрын
The rota was removed before and the caliper put on so it wasn’t dangling

You should at least clean and paint the caliper...
@bradytruezero87396 ай бұрын
Would have like to do that but for the purposes of the video painting it was not necessary
