Hey i was wondering is it possible to install this on a e53 that came from factory with self leveling in the rear only? That way it will be all 4 corners?

@@sandyrosario5697 hi Sandy, it is possible I believe. However, there are control units and air lines and switches that would need to be retrofitted. It would be a pretty big project I think and could get expensive. It might actually be cheaper to just find an e53 with these options. There may be more resources and info on xoutpost.com . Ive had mine for about 8 years now, i just redid the rear suspension, and its about that time to do the front so was just curious about this rather than springs.

Sandy Rosario ah gotcha, best to stick with the one you have then. Yeah it could be done, would need some programming too

very happy to see you include needing that tight access/service wrench. most wouldnt even know its needed. good job pal. i also replaced my rear airs with arnott from fcp euro. when i lowered mine there was also a loud pop sound. its held. but similar to what happened to you

I found it easier to take that brass fitting off by pushing it up towards the stop then use a very small flathead screwdriver to get in front of the collar and you can slide it right off.

Is it possible to retro fit this to the regular spring E53 3.0i, I basically have the exact same X5 you had previously, the black one :)

How are those strut hold up? Any problem? Are they Arnott brand?

When I added spacers on the car The car then started to make creeking noises from the rear not sure why Nice video I need to change my front struts also

@10:00 when you say the drive axel joint popped out of place? What does that look like? Also how can we be sure to correct it upon reassembling?

Can you tell me if it's the 17mm or 18mm "special flat wrench" that you need? I'm assuming it's just one or the other not both.

How much does it cost to have this done at dealership or shop?

I’m guessing this is around 2 hours per side and the local rate here at BMW is $198/hr

Never knew BMW X5 E53 had air suspension in the front? I thought only rear

That BMW Guy it’s a rare option for the 4 corner air on a 4.4i. The four corner air is more commonly found on the 4.8is model

My x5 4.8is front air struts went down I think they need replacement! Would you recommend Buying them on EBay Chinese made?

Yah the ones on eBay are just great... I purchased both front ones for my 2002 X5 4.6L they are perfect and the car handles great.
