About 2 years ago I had the time chain on the bank 2 head jump off the chain and start sawing into the head...metal everywhere. I pulled a boneyard motor with 92K miles, completely rebuilt it, installed and it's been running great. I wish I would've seen this back then for the idea. You need one heck of a shoehorn to get these motors in and out.

Hello I’m very interested in your swap, I saw your cluster got custom made from Dakota digital? How are the interior elecertical going with AC control and I drive system?

You can swap the eco chip from the Bmw cas system to modify the vin to the correct vin now I’m not sure if the chip is set up the same on the LSU ecu motherboard. Very cool build

Does your BMW have dynamic drive and active steering? I’m putting a 6.0l mated to a 4l80e into my 545i and was wondering if I could retain those features or if I have to change the rack and sway bars?

Great project, is there somewhere online where this build is documented? I have an E60 and a decent workshop (and an electronics engineering background) but just wondered if you documented things like the engine mount design and which gearbox you used etc. I cant think of a better thing to do to an E60, they're a great drive but the annoyance of the check control light for the slightest little thing just drives me mad. The VIN swap in the BMW modules is relatively easy if that's what you need to do, you just need a piece of software and the ability to calculate a check digit on the VIN number (I can tell you how to do that if you PM me, a bit too much to list here in a message).
