This video demonstrates how to change the spark plugs on a BMW E60 (2006-2010) M5 with the 5.0 S85 V10.
The correct plugs are the NGK LKR8AP, of which you will need 10 of.

I did plugs on my e39 540. After that I was getting misfires and partial misfires while under load at low rpm (below 2000). I had to take the plugs out and tighten the air gap very slightly and that fixed it. They say the plugs come pre-gaped.

My e60 m5 from 2008 s the audio in the car doesnt work at all could it be the amp? Or just an idrive issue? Also the head up display does not display the arrows from navigation it says assistance and the idrive are disconnected from network or something like this. I also get the dsc malfunction and dbt malfunction the battery was recently replaced but. Probably not properly coded in. Could this be the reason for the warnings i get on dash? I also get this one saying pressure monitor sensor faulty.

I also noticed, when I drive at high speed, sometimes falls off the head display, as well as radio. I am very grateful for any help. The BMW workshop did not notice anything during the diagnosis, unfortunately. Another info would be that the vehicle indicates overvoltage when connected to the diagnostic device. Thanks in advance.

You should have used the iridium equivalent plug - lasts longer than platinum(typically platinum will last about 50,000km, iridium 100,000km+) - no disadvantages at all other than they are a bit more expensive - but for the insane amount of shit you have to pull off and put back on this, worth the extra money for the time you save not having to do it again. The coil pack order doesn't matter - they should all be identical, if they aren't all behaving the same way then they need replacing.

Which cylinder(s) is it misfiring on? I would start with replacing all 10 plugs. If you have a misfire on say cylinder 3 and 7, move those coil packs to maybe cylinders 1 and 9. See if the misfire codes move WITH the coils. If so, you know you have bad coils in those cylinders.

Looks like common faults of that code are spark plugs, coils, injectors, vacuum leak, low fuel pressure, cam sensor, crank sensor, head gasket, compression (valve seals or head gasket) or poor quality fuel- in that order. I would start with spark plugs. If plugs don't do it, switch the coil on that cylinder to another cylinder and see if the code moves with it. If so, replace the coil.

@@31acruz The E39 represents a different time for BMW. All of their energy and focus was put in the driving experience. I personally prefer the styling and ergonomics better, too. The E39 M5 makes gobs of low end torque, and the horsepower builds with RPMs, so the entire rev range is very usable. The car feels very mechanical and analog, and you have so much control over it as a manual. It has so many personalities, depending on how aggressively it is driven. The E39 feels more german, more restrained and stealthy. The E60 does feel more exotic, however. The V10 is incredibly unique, but I find it to be less usable and far less practical.

We have K&N air filters in there. The box protects the filter the ambient dirt and grime.

I ended up breaking the coils on 5 and 10. They are really difficult to pop out without breaking them. Not enough leverage. So sad... At least I'll have 2 brand new coils. LOL

We recently changed the plugs on ours again and broke two coils. We replaced all 10 of them. If anybody needs good used working coils, I'll sell them for cheap!

@@E39Source Make sure you purchase them from FCPEuro. They have a lifetime warranty on everything they sell. So if you need to change all 10 again they would all be FREE!

Why do you own a Ferrari f355? While it is an amazing car, and arguably one the best Ferrari's, it is a literal money pit.

The look and the sound of this car makes whatever it takes to keep it going worth it. It does need timing belt services, which are engine-out services, every few years though. Which are annoying and expensive. But once you find a good shop, it's not that bad.

It's also not a terrible DIY if you don't care about resale value. One guy did a 7-part series on KZfaq showing how he did the engine-out service himself.

10k your better off buying a LP640 LAMBORGHINI as those are similar to maintain and Lamborghini LP640 is a much better car.
