I dont fully understand what you mean. If you do have broken shock absorbet top support plate , this is the way to do it. Always use correct parts and you will be fine🙏

the top of my shocks do not stop where they should but continue to rise upwards. What can be the cause? I didn't put new supports but I will use the old ones.🙏🏽

This just tells you that the shock absorber is in good condition. When you compress the shock absorber it should rise upwards once you release it, if it does not rise then you need to replace them. In your case shock is in good condition. 👍
