Seems to be an issue that not only myself but also some others encountered when fitting a new steering wheel in the BMW E90/E91/E92/E93/E87/E88, where the airbag doesn't fit tightly and wobbles.

Aw mate, you have made my day. I bought mine like this, and guessing the air bag isn't the original. I took mine off and someone had ripped and folded paper beer mats to take up the play, I refitted it, and it's still like it. You have definitely found the solution. Thank you.

@@TajwarC it's not sorted yet, but thanks to your video I can see my issue., either the bracket is wrong. Which I think is original, so that leaves the air bag must be wrong. Guessing my airbag isn't an msport, When my car is. Just hope I can find the one. Thanks again mate.

Thanks alot for this video. Needed this. My backing plate was exactly the same as the 335i steering wheel I got. But for some reason the airbag was wobbly like yours. So I used the backing plate of my original steering wheel. After that the issue was solved. Again. Thanks alot! 👊

I have this problem with my exploded aiebag and with the new one... its the same steering wheel. Should i try change that plate too?

where did you get the airbag from? was it just the airbag alone or from another wheel? if it doesn't fit you will need the plate that was on the wheel which the airbag came from. If not you need to find a plate somehow, maybe from a breakers yard
