Mine has even less consumption. Its just the magic of Diesels. There are diesel BMWs with 340 hp that consume about the same

Question. I've never driven 125d, would you say it was stable under hard acceleration and high speed. I would like one of these cars but I know they are at tail happy being rear wheel drive. I have family so I want to know if its safe.

It is quite stable, but not like an AWD as xdrive from BMW.

There is no 125d with xdrive, only 120d. But 120d is very fast also, you will be satisfied with it.

It's a great car, always torque and some great handling on twisty roads and good fuel consumption. Maybe a bit small for a family car. I've had mine for over 4 years now.

Hey, erstmal tolles Video wie immer :) Ich persönlich finde, dass der Motor fast etwas schwach wirkt für die Leistung. So ab 180 km/h würde ich einen besseren Durchzug (Beschleunigungswerte) für einen 224 PS starken BiTurbo erwarten. Hattest du auch so das Empfinden?

Hallo, danke für deine Frage. Tatsächlich lässt die Beschleunigung ab ca. 180 km/h stark nach. Abgesehen von der Leistung, sprechen wir hier von einem relativ kleinen Dieselmotor von dem viel erwartet wird bei der Geschwindigkeit. Man kann davon ausgehen dass die 224 ps bei der lang dauernde Beschleunigung nicht mehr vorhanden sein wird, um diverse Bauteile im antrieb zu schützen. Bei grössere Motoren mit gleicher Leistung wäre die Vermutung einer besseren Durchzug zu haben.

Im Vergleich zu meinem geht der im Video ab 180 ein bisschen mau, komisch. Meiner zieht bis 210 km/h gut durch ohne meinerseits irgendwas vermissen zu müssen, wird aber dann ab 220 langsam zäh, je nach leichten Steigungen, die man manchmal nicht bemerkt. War hier wohl vielleicht auch der Fall. Bei Beschleunigungen zwischen 140 und 190 zieht er aber ordentlich durch, das spürt man regelrecht im Sitz, das ist kein Vergleich zu schwächeren Modellen.

What is it like comparing to the 120d ? Do you really feel a big difference in terms of power?

We've never tested a 120d before. There will be a very pretty 420d G22 video in the next few weeks!

No, it's not big difference, but you feel that 125d is faster car.

125 feels like a petrol N/A (power everywhere) 120 feels like a turbodiesel (limited rpm range with peak power)

Engine is impressive! Car is way too loud! Golf 7 is better concering wind noise at high speeds.

@@tiagocarvalho983 petrol engine sounds way better. But at high speed noise insulation is missing in this car. Other cars like Audi A3 or Golf 7 are much better concering noise insulation, but FWD…

Thanks for the interesting question! I think that the road noise isn't too much at all, for that price range. For a four cylinder Diesel engine it had a very beefy sound! But if your finances would allow you, i'd rather go for the 3.0 l gasoline engines. We´ll be interested about your buying decision and your first impressions, so don´t forget to let us know :)

Fully stock? Bmw state 149mph max but you hit 157.5mph . Mine is also mapped so maybe 165?😅

Stock? I have a 125d 2019 and the maximum speed I have detected is 245km/h for the moment

Yes it's stock :) Top speed can vary depending on multiple factors, such as wind, temperature and so on. So the outcome for the same model can be different.

Which one is better the 125i or 125d?

We've never tested a 125i, so it's hard to say which one is the best to drive.

125i is lighter in front end, but fuel consumption is obviously much worse, especially on highway.

Nice car, but the engine still sounds like a tractor at low speed. The 6 cylinder diesels are not like that, it is a shame they didn't fit them to the 1 series.

this has a 2.0 inline 4 diesel, not a 6 cyl.

If the car crashes at those speeds as they are doing it on this channel, there would have been more to worry about than a life insurance. 😉 We take as little risk as possible for us to be able to make these videos. The channel is about the cars and not about the risks.
