►If there's one system that you can be confident you'll be repairing on your BMW, that is the cooling system. On this BMW F30 with BMW's N20 engine, we will be replacing the radiator and refilling the cooling system.
Replacing the radiator isn't a difficult job and can be done in a matter of just a few hours at home in your garage or driveway with a minimal amount of hand tools. We recommend using a vacuum filler such as the Airlift vacuum filler to refill your cooling system as it eliminates the possibility of air being trapped in the system.

There is the automatic cooling system bleeding routine described in TIS. Why wasn't that used to drain the coolant?

The big hose to the radiator has a smaller hose coming down from the bottom which is blocking the oil cooler from coming out, should I remove the big hose ?

Isn't it better to use a fully aluminum radiator? I don't like the plastic bits on that Nissen radiator.

I recently replaced the radiator and it’s leaking from the upper and lower hose. I know u mentioned the o ring thingy adhering to the original radiator. any ways around getting a new hose? can I put like an o ring in the hose?

You will want to replace the entire hose as there typically isn't a separate part number provided for that o-ring. You may be able to find one that fits out of an o-ring kit, however that does not mean it is made for coolant duty.

Question if anyone can answer. 2016 F30 Msprt N26 rad fan comes on max for 1 min only on freezing days like 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Above that its doesn't come on at all (cold start). I'm thinking the rad was changed and installed with an N20 rad. Anyone have an explanation? Water pump works fine and seems new ish. 43,000 miles on car to date.

a radiator replacement shouldnt have changed the fan wiring, but it would be difficult to diagnose without access to the car. You may want to have it looked at locally

On the n26. Im getting a code for that sensor that goes on the radiator.check engine light is on. Cant find the part name. What is it called and can it be replaced.

You have to replace the whole radiator, that part is not sold separately

Why not work on other bmw and not just a 3 series try a f10 535 or something else
