One of the most common complaints about the BMW S55 motor is the sound. It's said to be raspy.. its said to sound like a weed eater! One of the BEST ways to change and improve that sound is with the ‪@TheActiveAutowerke‬ performance midpipe!
Doing sound comparisons isn't easy as there are dozens of variables involved including the camera gear, car tune, and more. I did my best to keep the variables as limited as possible, and all recordings done in the same way with the same gear.
Hopefully this will give you a good side by side comparison, between complete stock, and the Active performance midpipe both with and without the resonated AB pipes.
I find the midpipe adds a deeper note, a little bit of volume and overall improves the sound of the car. I also found I prefer WITH the resonated AB pipes rather than without.
