For this video you will need:
-A new EKPM3 from the same Chassis (E9x for me)
-10mm socket wrench
-Protool App with coding licenses
-Bimmergeeks (Recommended) OBD2 Cable
Originally I had an issue with LPFP and Rail Pressure both being low and kicking on code 29DC. I replaced my LPFPs and Fuel regulator. It fixed it for a few plls and then both pressures would drop again and I’d get the same 29DC, 2AAE, 2DED and 6923 (high voltage )code. I ordered a new EKPM2 and same result, I got an EKPM3 from an F series chassis and it worked but I got code CDA6 and 6923 even though pressure held up but I couldn’t fix the high voltage going to my EKPM3. FINALLY I went and got an EKPM3 from my chassis vehicle and I was able to fix the voltage as the option to fix the voltage appeared and everything works again! Please follow the steps in the video and listen to the explanation! Don’t skip through or you may miss something!!

I'm so impressed that you've answered every comment. Now I'm hoping you'll answer mine to. I've put in the Walbro 450lph pump and now my car starts but the low fuel pressure is only at 11-12 psi. If I hold the throttle down a little bit a and slowly rev the car to around 3500 to 4000 RPM the car dies completely. But it will start again and do the same thing. My HPFP is only showing 600 to 700 PSi at idle and the fuel rails are very low as well. I'm getting codes 2A2D "Fuel Low Pressure system, fuel pressure and 2AAF- Fuel pump Plausibility, EXPLANATION: Fuel pump check. FIX: Very common Code for stock and modified alike. Just ignore it." (That's what it says LOL). I kept thinking this was due to something about my LPFP install. So I kept trying to make sure the hoses were correct and that everything was doing what it should. I have a full version of Protool and I thought I had to reset the EKPM3 module to factory so I did that but no change. Now I'm confused (It's a 2008 335XI N54 that has the EKPM3 version) is it possible my EKPM3 is bad even though it worked fine before the pump swap? Or maybe my HPFP went bad with the new pressure. I did try to drive the car after the swap and drive it about three miles but then it died and I looked at the LPFP numbers and that's when I saw it was at 11 psi or so. I idled it home (Thank the Lord lol) and now I'm baffled. Thank you for the great video and your time and attention! Any advice would be Gold to me!

In your situation it sounds like the EKPM3 is fine and that your issue is with the LPFP. I always go back to the last thing I changed before things go bad. Where did you purchase the fuel pump? eBay and Amazon tend to have a lot of knock offs

@@ReignRegime Well there was a problem with the pump just like you said (Thank you very much for replying I really appreciate that!) and it was my fault. Embarrassingly I hadn't tightened a An-10 fitting I am using for the new 450 pump. So I did and it worked great! HOWEVER after I fixed that and got the pressure reading 72 psi like it should after driving just a few miles the car died completely. I've tried to read the EKPM3 module now (It's the one that came with the car but it's very old and gone almost 200,000 Miles) but it won't recognize the module at all like you said would happen if I had the wrong chassis module in it. I have ordered a new one of the same chassis so I'm praying it will fix the problem and will see the new module even though it's not seeing the one that is original. I don't know what else to do at this point. Code CDA6 has now come up. I have full protool so .....

Man I got 2ded. I’ve never changed this part however I’ve said there was a fuel issue for a while now. I finally just put mine on jack stands and attempting to find that power management issue. I started to do this once before not sure what changed my mind. I’m certainly going to look in my book and see why I didn’t. Yes call me crazy but I keep a maintenance book. Thanks for the video

Hello i have error 2DED ( Power management, closed-circuit Current violation) have ideea is the same Ekp?I have a 320i e92. And 2 erorr: 1. 29E0(Mixture control) and 2. 29CD(Combustion mysfire cylinder 1). Have ideea what they are? Thank you.

Hi! I am getting only 9V or less on my BMW F15 ekpm3. It is from an F10 series and I have not coded it. Is it a coding issue or physical damage to EKPM3 ?

I recently purchased the bypass for the ekpm then started getting the cda6 do you think it’s still the wrong ekpm I did purchase some from eBay

I have an 08 335i running e50 rn and I was driving and the car just shut off tried to let it sit for about an hour and it just cranks forever (no issues before this) and I’m getting the CDA6 code so I’m guessing I just need to replace the EKPM?

Does this cause fuel injector codes cause I got codes 2AAE, 2AAF, and 30BA. The first 2 are fuel pump and Fuel pump plausibility.

I have the part and got bimmercode but it cant code it for me as far as i can tell. No idea what to do to program this. Protools $80 plus only works with a specific obd adapter. We dont know if issue is pump or module and i cant move forward. I have a pump and a module. Id love to not need the pump and return it but at this point all i can do is install it and hope i dont get into an accident when it dies on highway again

What does that device control think you say the fuel pump yes cuz I have the 2DED I thought it meant that my fuel pump suction is bad

Helpful video, I also have an 07 335i with a walbro 535 pump recently installed, codes I'm getting are 2DED( power management closed circuit current violation), 2AAE (fuel pump) and 29D2 cylinder 6 misfire. Does this sound like an ekpm ? I'm sure mine is original. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

2DED, 2AAE sound like EKPM. Could be causing the misfire on cyl 6 as well

Tune: MHD, for custom maps I use Wedgetuning but you can also use Twisted tuning, Doc Vu, Motiv, vader solutions. Turbo: I chose single turbo but stock turbo cars are very quick as well Trans: I have manual so I did a spec stage 3 clutch but I’d suggest a twin disk in which I’m installing sooner or later. For auto use XHP flash Fuel: port injection 750cc injectors with stage 3 LPFP and full e85 What questions do you have?

i just bought a 325i that was sitting for more than a year cuZ it didnt start i replaced the starter and now cranks over but no start cant here the pump

Hi, happy new year. Question, my 2011 e90 328i cranks not starting. 1.Checked voltage to the pump connector (2 pins) getting 10volts when cranking. 2. Checked the fuel pump relay (2 pins )with a 12v battery and I heard the pump motor working. 3. Issue I don’t hear the Fuel Pump relay starting. Is this the ekp module failure? Is there a multimeter test that I can do? And advise would really help me.

The fix was to clean the EKPS Module contacts with electrical contacts spray cleaner and an applied a thin application of dialectic grease to remove moisture.

I got an EKPM3 from a 2010 E90 and coded it to work on my sisters E60 535xi It’s worked fine and actually got the car to turn over for about a week, as of today it cranks but does NOT start. I have no codes for an EKP module, I have several Autel smart tablets at my disposal and the only new/notable codes are: 2DED & E714 & A830: GWS

Your video makes sense to me, I’m just confused as to how this could a crank no start, how would it randomly disconnect/unpair itself from the car?

@@brandon7968 for me, the car would start but would misfire under WOT once the EKPM got hot. My suggestion for you would be to get an E60 EKPM. I’m by no means an expert, I learn from trial and error but that’s my best guess. I had a few EKPMs til I learned that I needed one from my same model
