Hi Derek, avid watcher of the channel, and due to this when the wife decided she wanted anEV I wasn’t as reluctant as I thought, so last week we purchased an ID4 GTX to replace our Tiguan 4 motion and I must admit it’s an absolute pleasure to drive , even doing a 900 klm round trip and sightseeing to see our daughter the charging aspect was grand, meeting other Ev owners at charging points around the country was a insight into the lack of infrastructure the government and utilities have in place and the mind blowing discrepancy in charges , esb € 0.64 cent per klw is extortionate, but we did 950 klm s to €65 which is pretty good at those prices, thanks again , for the channel it really does help us sceptics

The cost of this is mind blowing. Way beyond me. And not far off the dream electric car, taycan cross tourismo.

Traded in a 320D for an ix1M sport 3 months ago and am very pleased with it. I like my extras, eg. head up display, harmon kardon sound system. Never considered a Tesla as I think they are very bland and their build quality and suspension are questionable although I do accept their battery management system is second to none. My only complaint of the ix1 is the storage pockets. It is difficult to get objects out due to the placement of the armrests. You have to twist your hand at an awkward angle to reach things in the pockets.

Noticed when you were reading the spec/price sheet, did BMW actually call the exterior mirrors “wing mirrors” … what is it with people now referring to door mirrors as wing mirrors?? Maybe they never used, or even saw, actual wing mirrors - the ones mounted on the wings. Which I used love. These ones are mounted on the door - so, door mirrors!!! Good overall review of a car (or brand) I’ll never drive! Staying with the Koreans for the moment .

I know for a fact that even the BMW sales personell are getting worried with the level of pricing when each of these new models are released. So........€72k for their baby SUV.......bonkers. Great video as usual Derek. (the pricing is not your fault)

Hi Derek - love the reviews, you’ve a very down to earth style, and know your stuff! One question, how would you say the iX1 compared with the Q4? I have a co car offer in the UK, and the BMW is about 15% cheaper .. but think I’d prefer the Q4 as coming up from a Q3! Is it worth it??

If this was a successor for thr i3 in its own platform i would say this is enough car for anyone and for 10-20k less would think its perfect, but 70k for compromised platform makes me look at the koreans and save the money,.maybe i should buy some leather n glue it on the cheaper kia interior when it arrives with thr Money I saved. This car is probably 15 years behind where it should be in packaging 🤯
