BMW M2 in the workshop for our PE Stage Handling kit and PE Stage 1+ ECU Tune
Split into two separate videos
Part 1 PE Handling Package Install consisting of H&R Lowering Springs w/ Bimecc Spacers
How to install lowering springs on a BMW M2, M2 Competition & CS - M3 F80 & M4 F82 installation is very similar
Tools required;
Lift / Ramp
Breaker Bar & Torque Wrench
Jack
Ratchets
18mm Strut Socket
10, 16, 18 & 21mm Ring Spanners
10, 16, 17, 18, 21mm Sockets
T30 Socket
Pry bar / Tool
Wire Brush
Grease
Torque settings (not official from OEM documentation)
Front
Damper nut - 34nm
Drop link nut - 60nm
Rear
Lower arm inner nut - 165nm
Lower arm outer nut - 100nm

I bet the owner of this car felt like how us women feel like after a visit to the beauty parlour... seeing his (assuming it's a him) beloved car getting the PE treatment... great video.

Lol that's a very good way on how to describe it lol. Whenever a motor leaves the workshop after some PE treatment it always gets a lot of love lol 😁

Hey buddy, great video! Planning on installing H&R sport springs on my M2 this weekend and will use your video as a reference. Do I not need any spring compressors? Really surprised you were able to do this install without them from the look of things.

Hi mate. Yea if you follow the video you shouldn't have any issues and yes you can do the install without spring compressors. The front strut assembly comes down enough to clear the arch, feedback how you get on 👍

Great content, lots of ways to save A LOT of money here! I would have totally tried bending that strut out before disconnecting the two sensors first :D Off-topic ish, is there a big difference in cabin size between these and the 1 series coupe? I only ask as I know two kids seats do not fit nicely in the back of a 1.

Cheers Al, hopefully gives people an insight into installing springs to M cars, not difficult at all. Hmmm not much difference but the rears are less practical on the M2 given there is no central seat, plus the 3 doors make them headache for getting little ones ini lol

Thanks for posting this. Planning this for my M2C. Did you place the 12 spacers up front or in the rear?

Your welcome. Believe the 12s were on the fronts on this particular M2 but usually the wider go on the rears. We have a Black M2C on our Instagram page with this setup if you wanted to see how it would looks.

Thanks 👍 The Cayenne is a little more complicated than this, would be similar in terms of what you undo but the front and rear suspension is more fiddly, would look amazing though once all installed👌

Added some torque settings but would advise doing a little research online as these settings are not official from an OEM document

Would this method apply to m140 I ,,m135i . particularly the front,,not removing the front, strut big time saver. Similar suspension set up??

Hi Tony. You can do the fronts in the same way but you will need to compress the spring a bit before taking the strut out from the arch. Compress it all before removing the strut bolt and should come out fine.

Lovely stance on this now. Was 12 and 10mm spacers used 👍
