A supercar in disguise. This might genuinely go down as one of the greatest M5’s ever. BMW showing us despite the awful things they’ve been producing lately, they’re still capable of pure M magic 🔥

@@iitzsylix4628 yeah it’s a solid all rounder. Very good if you want decent performance and something that won’t be really expensive to run. It’s has a 2.0l 4cyl engine so will be economical and not break your wallet if something goes wrong. My advice though (if you’re willing to spend a bit more) would be to get a 330i. It’s still a 4cyl but has the B48 engine which is an amazing engine, and comes in the facelift models.

@@colinsmith3938 who would pick that boring cheap American junk over one of the best M cars probably ever made? 😂😂😂 Plaid would be faster up to around 150mph, after that the M5 would pull away. And the M5 is faster around the Nurburgring so don’t know what you’re on about 🤦♂️ Americans shouldn’t talk about cars

@@bmf5420 a tesla plaid towing an m5 would still beat the m5 to 152mph plaid doesn't just beat the m5 it leaves it standing to imagine a track with a log straight at the start how far would the plaid be in front and it comes out of corners much faster

Can we talk about the shot of the back badge at the start where the pull out to the badge is accompanied by narrowing the aspect ratio? That is one of the sickest simple edits I’ve ever seen. George Peck, you’re a genius.

I also loved the slow-mo toward the end at around 11:30 where the car was banking left and you could see the water being drawn up through the tyre treads and dispersed. This kind of detail used to be an exclusive Topgear domain, but Autotraders production team are now it's equal

Bro this thing is faster than an M8 competition! It is the ultimate 4 door sedan. It's only 20k more than the M8 competition, I think the price is justified.

I disagree. If Chris and Rory did something else together to the tune of Chris Harris on Cars and Auto Trader, it'd be a cut above. But TG is a fixed format being presented by 1 motoring journalists and 2 people trying their best to be funny but fall short on the more soulful side of motoring. It's ok and some of the segments are great, but nothing to write home about.

In the bends it wouldn’t get away from a Golf R though, and in a straight line an EV would toast it unless over a long distance. It’s the usability that makes it so special, the best all rounder

Great video! I am hopefully picking up my CS later this week. The video is great on its own but the timing of giving me new material leading up to delivery has got me even more hyped! Then again I won’t be driving it like this around the neighborhood… 😆

I'm pretty sure that the lap time recorded on the nurburgring is the longer version of the track whereas the AMG GT 63s and Project 8 was on the shorter version so actually the M5 CS would have been quickest 4 door
