I've been riding Beemers for 50 years, and an R1200R for the last 8. This is the most capable and fun road bike I've ever had. Light (for its engine displacement), comfortable, torque for days, exceptionally flickable, great brakes and rock steady in the corners. Did I mention superb engineering, build quality and reliability? Whether it's the highway, the canyons, or the track, you'll love it! Put bags on it and go coast-to-coast.

Excellent. Thanks for including the pre-session "walk around" as requested. Perhaps a "post session" close up of the tires, rotors, etc right after you come into the pits to show the wear pattern of the new Pilots and the hue of the rotors? *Do you know what level of ABS the Instructor was using when he passed off line in the cold, damp line that caused him to hang the rear out supermoto / flat track TT style as he then overcooked the next apex? At least he did not hold your buddy up too badly, nor low side coming across in front of you while trying so desperately to scrub off all of that entry speed he was carrying. Looks like so much FUN! I want to play too!!! /Brakelate/

Update for people wondering: Current R1200R has quickshifter (up-shifting) and optional blipper (down-shifting) You can also change the display to show revs and digital kph. It's still not a very intuitive display unfortunately. The bike indeed is nimble. However since your ears won't tell you when you're in race mode (you have power and torque in low revs), it's not a good bike for starters. For starters the F800R or a 3-cylinder (XSR900) or a 4-cylinder (Z900) would be better.

Good ride, thanks! @miragegp how do you think - is R1250R worth about +40-50% cost vs r1200r? Some people write comments, thats its still the same bike (not mention shiftcam +10% HP, and display), and its smart not to overpay for r1250r but get r1200r 2015-2016 year in good condition... here we have good r1200r for 10k$ and r1250r from 14-15k$.

Test rode this bike on the road a couple of weeks ago and was blown away. Also test rode at Phillip Island race Track the SSR1000 a couple of weeks before that and that bike is mind blowingly good. I'd never get one for the road though. But the R1200R has everything. Power, upright seating, all the electronic aids you could want, handling. Its an amazing bike. But here in Australia its around $28,000 (around 20,000 euros !!) with panniers, quick shift, keyless start, touring pack. Just too expensive. How much is it overseas guys ? Great video by the way. The race with the R1000 was fantastic. Thnx

Brenton Goodsell I'm in South Africa, it's around 20.000USD - without farkles. Expensive. But I really enjoyed it. Would probably like it even more on the road. Video coming up with 2015 S1000RR.

+Brenton Goodsell I ended up buying a dealer used one. It truly is an amazing bike. Cant wait to test it on the track at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

Do you think clip-ons with more forward body position would help the handling instead of the handlebar ? Thanks
@miragegp8 жыл бұрын
+Tibor Imely I don't think so Tibor. Bars are very wide, it's difficult to shift your body back or forward, even to move from one side to the other. Bike feels solid though, electronics suspension worked really well.
