I have always enjoyed the aggressive and purposeful look of the bike but never quite knew in which category to place it. Is it a touring bike, crossover adventure bike, S1000 superbike motor....... So I had to take one out and see for myself what this model is all about......

You do know that BMW have just launched a updated version of this bike, with a better seat (flatter, longer and it doesn't feel like your sitting in a canoe with your legs dangling out either side 😅) more power as well

Great review as per usual! Unfortunate it might be a little low on power/torque, although looks plenty for us mere mortals. I’ve always been interested in the XR.

Nice review! The "sporty pull-of" on 16:02 could have been better though. The power is higher in the rev range so gearing up at 7k rpm is not the way to go on this bike in therms of sporty riding. The XR is a ultimate "get rid of your license" bike 😂
