@@route21garage the only thing keeping me from buying that very bike is the first half of your video I see the screen but not one number. Other youtube videos of the sams bike are just as bad. Is there an adjustment for brightness?

Recently purchased an R1250RT just like this one in a 2022 model. I sold my 2022 R1250GS to buy the RT. Love it! Much more suitable to my riding style and much easier to ride. Although, I did love the GS.

Good luck with your project. On KZfaq and also the UK media you rarely hear good news from South Africa, it’s all about how the country is falling apart and nothing works anymore. This video shows that’s not true ! - of course it’s rare in a normal bike test video of yours not to see some load shedding going on 🤣🇬🇧
@route21garage10 күн бұрын
😂🤣👍🏻 thank you 🙏 Yes, it is a country of extremes. If it works it’s phenomenal to live in SA, but when it falls apart, SA is market leader 😂😂🤣

@nilsolofolsson906718 күн бұрын
Thanks for review. I want to add what customers may want to know. This bike has a lot of plastics in front, that is time consuming to dismount. Around 20 screws and single use clips to get it naked For me it is frustrating and I dont want to call this an adventure bike, when you do'nt have easy access to for example air filter. You do'nt have easy acces to accessory electric cables, for which there is connections under the headlight On my old Suzuki DR 600 this was easy. On this BMW, the market people has put appearance before function. It is a nice bike to ride, so I think this is sad. I am going to sell my bike and by a more simple one.

I've owned a 2022 for two years, great little bike. Gas mileage is excellent, ride it hard and it averages 65-70 mpg. My only complaints are the front forks are not so great, and maybe 5th and 6th gear could be spaced up a little to drop the highway revs.

thank you for this presentation. my dumb question is can the number board be removed for a second person to use foot pegs? thank you
@route21garage29 күн бұрын
Yes it can be removed, however the seat has a hump too. I got a proper 2 seater bench seat as an option with mine when I purchased mine. This makes it far more spacious as a 2 seater

hallo daar. I just found this vid. I bought the first one in Cape Town. (red one). It was still on show at the old Goodwood Showgrounds. Burned a hole in the piston twice. After the second time there was no agent in the country anymore and had it welded up. No internet that time to search for spares in other countries. No knowledge about two strokes to fix it later on and it just rusted away. Bought a green one with 300 km on the clock for R300 about 10 years later. Unregisterd as it was a farm bike. Owner said it has been to about every workshop in Cape Town but no one could get it started. I got it going by setting the ignition timing all the way to the right. some weeks later it stopped and I got it going by setting the timing all the way to the left. Evert time it stopped I had to set the timing to the other side. Eventually the crank seals went and I could not get others any where. So it just rusted away as well. Would love to get one again.

I understand they are completely different bikes but for mountain riding in the twisties would you rather have the R or the M 1000 R?
@route21garageАй бұрын
I personally would go for the R as I think the M is a little too wild and a little too track focused. But that could also be handled via rider skill level…..
