I did the headlight and fog light upgrade several years ago, huge improvement over the stock bulbs. I also did the interior light, I'm no longer in the dark with the light on...

Davin, And another comment. I just installed LED bulbs in the tail lights as you did. They appear to work fine. BUT, a WORD OF CAUTION for anyone doing this tail light work! I spent considerable time testing the lights as I was installing them. In doing so, reinstalling the plastic tail light bulb housing / cover inside the trunk could be somewhat challenging in getting all of the bulbs to insert back into the holes in the tail light housing --- in which case it is possible, as I found several times, when jockeying the bulb housing to fit and screw back in, that a bulb can pop out and drop into the light housing. The only ways to retrieve the bulb are to either remove the light housing from the car (which I did not do) or use a flexible magnetic pick-up tool, which I just happened to have --- it REALLY saved me getting the work done without removing the entire tail light housing from the car. It was a bit tricky, but it is possible to retrieve a loose bulb with the magnetic tool.

for anyone with the facelift model (2000+-1?): the rear tail lights use like micro bulbs or something, each bulb is in a little plastic cartridge that u just twist 90 degrees to unlock/lock. take them out and look at them for a part number before getting replacements

Tip for the alignment; put your car in front of a white wall or board and mark the postion before removing the old bulbs. Then install the new bulb and you can verify by means of the markings.That is if you haven't moved the car or the board :-)

Decided to "upgrade" to LED lighting on my 98 2.8 Z3. Started simple with trunk and interior lights, brake, turn signal and reverse lights. And the fun begins. Turn signals rapid flash, cruise control stops working and interior light glows when turned off. Seems that these are all common problems when installing LED bulbs. Switched back to original bulbs on brakes, turn signals. Rapid flash gone, cruise control works. Left reverse lights interior and trunk lights with LED. Did an OBD scan and now have an interior light fault. Can live with this since interior light is so much brighter than original. Found brightness gain was minimal for turn signal and brake lights and not prepared to fart around with resistors to make things work right.

Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. I switched to LEDs, but now my high beams are coming on when the fog lights are on. I'm guessing it's due to the low voltage necessary to power them coupled with the the way the relay to cut the fogs when the high beams are on is wired.

Excellent video, upgraded brake lights, back turn signals and reverse light, no problems, install is easier removing the DVD six pack. Trunk and interior light made a high difference, pull the fuse before replacing, blew one fuse with interior light replacement. Problem with the 7 trunk brake lights, they have a dim glow when the ignition is on, no glow when ignition is turned off so they should not cause a battery drain.Is there a simple solution? Interior light also glows slightly when switched to the on with the door open position. Simple fix for this? Thanks.

In fog lights just take the black bracket out of the inside pops out no problem with needle nose

Nice video Dav, much appreciated. One problem I had with my 96 Z3 was on the six light trunk brake bar. Every time I put put the new (from amazon ... looks like the ones you bought with the siver painted bases) in to the socket and turned them ... it blew the 5A fuse in the engine compartment! I had to put the old ones back in. Months later I still havent solved the problem. I went through 5 fuses and gave up! Any ideas??????? I have used these leds on all my cars and am using them in other spots on the Z3 and they work great. Love to have a few ideas to fix.

Hello anyone know what type of headlight bulb uses Z3 2000-2001 model? For low and high beam.

One more comment: With your new LED headlights, and when your low beams are on, when you change to high beam, does low beam remain operating with the high beam adding to the lighting so both low and high beams are operating at the same time?

Davin - great vid! Thanks for posting. I do have one problem from this set up - the 1156 bulbs don't seem to work in my front turn signals. Work great for rear lights, but I get no light at all with the front turn signals. No flicker or flash with any of the others. I'll be exploring other LEDs for the front turn signals - not sure why mine would be different from yours. The Sealight Xeros set is not currently available on Amazon so I ordered another set with fans built in from Auxito because I've never had issues with fan'd LEDs on my other vehicles (in fact I prefer them).
