Please for your safety use jack stands in case the floor jack fails!

Handy Homemaker Hint: Raise from passenger side. Don't for get floor jack. Break loose, but do not remove drain plug. Lower car back down and then jack car up as high as possible from driver side. Again, don't forget floor jack. Situate drain pan and remove plug. This makes the drain hole the lowest spot in the engine and draining the oil will more effectively remove debris. I also use a hockey puck on the floor jack, as previously mentioned.

Going under a car have back up jack stands, not just a jack.

Helpful video but it is recommended to not use a crescent wrench the plastic bolt on the oil filter housing is super easy to strip (ask me how I know)...its safer to use a 6pt 36mm socket do not use a multi pt socket...the 36mm sockets are available online and cheaper than a new oil filter housing cap
