I started following recently, and i want to say that i really appreciate all the efforts you are putting for us, keep it up. On the other hand, it would be nice to see before and after the fix, for example on this video it would have been nicer to hear the rattle sound before and after the fix.

Go on KZfaq bro and listen to other M5 they all have that rattle as nobody changes the solenoids as they don’t know how 😂 you will be hearing it start once the car is back together I still have a lot to go yet, but what you can do is go and see my video of the S85 solenoid test I did with ista when I first got the car, and that will show you how out of tolerance and range they all were and I will be doing another video showing the bleed procedure along with the tolerances once I get this car back together. The reason I never did it is because this car is far from finished just yet I have alot more to do the car isn’t ready to start or go back together just yet.

Not for me, I have no need to sell this believe me it’s probably the most overhauled and mechanically bulletproof S85 out there with tons of money spent to make it perfect now. So I have no reason to sell it you mean the day I finally can redline the crap out of it without no fear anymore 😅 it’s only a joy to others who cannot afford the upkeep of them for me it’s cheap as cheap as my N52 so why would I sell it ? It cost me nothing to maintain. I would also never ever get another one with every single thing done on this car, this is by far the only one I don’t have to sit there worrying about this or that ain’t been done as it’s had EVERYTHING every common failure point has been addressed and done ! Nobody puts this much into a car they don’t plan to keep and you won’t ever find one with all of this done as people can’t afford too.

Hallo, I have buyed an bmw m5 s85 , i have the code 27b6 vanos oil pressure. I buyed a new high pressure hose but didn’t help. If i do the bleed procedure, the noise of both vanos goes away but if i drive a little or touch the accelerate pedal, the sound comes back. I did also do the solenoid test and all of them is not ok. 0.3 all of them. Do you know someting about this? Thanks

My m6 is making a strange sound its a 2015, but also another random but it is loud!! My m6 when i put it in reverse, it makes a loud grinding sound when i give it a lil gas its like something is touching.or it aslo does it when i am at a redlight and i give it a lil gas.

M Doctor, i just received 4 new Vanos solenoids and examined them like you did, but i did notice that when I shook them like shaking a bottle there was a rattle coming from inside similarly like the sound the pcv valve makes when you shake it. Is this normal?

I did a vanos test and the results came low for all solenoids . Is it ok the drive the car like that ? The car runs fine

Great videos! Learned some stuff from you. As time progresses, I've enhanced skills learned. For this job: Mini t20 that goes to an electronic toolset, 2-inch extension (the 3+ inch extension the sets usually come with but cut) and an adapter to fit this new shinny tool to a 1/4 socket wrench. Works like magic on my e60 S85. Oh, and an inspection camera will help for that upside down view. Be prepared to replace those t20 screws... They can be nasty afterwards from removal. Get eight M4 10mm and compare threads.

Hello, my name is Fernando from Portugal. I would like to ask you a question based on your experience and knowledge about the m5. I have a m5 e60 from 2006 that I bought in 2015. Since then some issues appeared and I iam been able to solve them thought the office I work with. Throttle actuators, gas pomp and all its sensors, rod bearings, and other small things. How ever in 2020 the car stopped due to a gear box malfunction, I couldn’t shift the gears and the car was able to be driven by itself till it stopped without been able to shifted down or to put it in neutral. We thought it was the battery, and at that time we change the gear box oil and filter. Last year in February we changed the gas accumulator. And in juin last year it happened again the car stopped. Back to the office shop by truck and we change the relays. Everything seems to be good till yesterday that happened again 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Information on the desk board “ gear malfunction “ or something. Do you know what could be the cause of this malfunction bearing in mind all the replacements that we have made? By the way next week I am going to change the vamos solenoids because they have almost 16 years 😁😁😁. Thank you for your attention and I appreciate your answer.

I had a feeling you was keeping your leftside a trade secret lol, thanks for the upload even though i dont have one of these monsters i love watching and learning from these videos. Quick question can a new TMS controller for an F10 be trained in via ISTA - D?. As im currently rebuilding my headlamp.

Of course bro 😉 that is trade secrets and took me over 6hrs and 5 phone calls to my friends asking them how to get to them and I finally had to go to some special shop not even a tool shop to get the tool needed. But I just say it was very very easy to do with it. Expensive tool but holy s**t made the job literally much much faster especially putting them back 😅 and yes you can relearn headlamps in ista on the F10 I had to do it with my F20 the other day as I have xenon and I needed to do it before MOT 😅 If I’m honest bro , I only kept the left side secret because why should I help others remake this video ? Let them try and get stuck or fail 😅 that will teach them not to try follow simple as sometimes you have to play hard to get where you need to be. Took me along time and only true I have very very good friends who do this on a regular I mean my friend only does all M engines in London so he knows only too well what to use and how to get to them. At least it’s fair to say it can be done and I proved it without taking the valve covers off and having to redo timing 😌 Really tho bro , nobody really needs to know how to do the left side even many garages unless they know this job, they will tell you immediately it can’t be done without removing the units. Which I assure it it can and it’s because it’s very very time consuming if you don’t know how to do it. But brother fact is I done it 😀 and it wasn’t hard at all when you know what to do. But obviously if anyone I know wants it done they will bring there car to me so it’s irrelevant for KZfaq really. This is why bro I’m skilled in what I do and that’s why there isn’t another S85 solenoid removal because most people won’t even dare tackle the job with engine inside. But I worked on much harder to get bolts then that trust me in my time.

I really wish I could but unfortunately KZfaq told me if I show it my channel will be banned 🙁 so I can’t do it I’m really sorry 😞 I think there is other videos out there that show it on this engine maybe. If not then I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ you might have to find someone who is skilled and doesn’t follow KZfaq videos to work around stuff.

Oh no me and nobody else have shown the tool, because there isn’t anybody else that has done this on KZfaq only me. That’s what I mean how can you find a tool that nobody else has done. The tool I had fabricated was one of my good friends who do this day in day out he owns a garage specialising in S85 / S65 obviously you can’t reveal it all on KZfaq that’s what sets me apart from the rest, by showing it means you make these cars easier to maintain which then means prices increase 😬 but by keeping it all hidden people don’t know how get scared and get rid of there cars cheap so it’s a win win situation. Of course a normal T20 will do on the passenger side like you saw me use, but as for the other side a T20 won’t ever get inside there no matter how you try, and you risk dropping all the screws into the ac compressor housing which can become dangerous 😬 but even on the other side you need to know which screws to target first otherwise the T20 becomes useless on that side if you target the wrong ones first. Just know if you attempt this job be prepared for many many many hours if not days with the car off the road and scratching your head trying to come up with a way to get around it. It’s not a day job by any means I would give at least a week of running around trying different tools and have at least £100 spare for all different tools you will be trying.

Expensive ? This is CHEAP for genuine BMW solenoids for a M5 for 4. bro if your contemplating about expensive you shouldn’t own a BMW and I’m worried what parts you are fitting on your car. You cannot run these cars cheap, must be BMW genuine parts only fitted this is why so many people subscribe for fitting cheap junk when they can’t afford there cars. If you fitted the correct manafacturer parts the cars would run perfect without issue. But then again, my channel wouldn’t be what it is today if you all used genuine parts 😉

lol if you don't know that legendary engine then maybe working on a job of this level is not for you
