BNSF Galesburg Railroad Days June 22, 2019

Galesburg Railroad Days not being what it used to be with just a Tier 4 on display and bus tours around the yard. Railfans still hang out at the depot and railpark. These were some the trains seen by the depot and on the south bridge. Galesburg is a great place to watch trains and there is always a good variety of trains and locomotives. Thanks for watching!

Excellent footage Jeff!! I like Peck as it has the pavilion. But Galesburg has so much to offer for rail fans.

Thank you! Yes it does, it is hard to decide where you want to be with so many trains in so many directions.

Where have I been? Nearly 2 years since they were introduced and I just noticed the AMTRAK Siemens locomotive. Nice!

Okay Jeff,I'm sold. I put Galesburg on my list to visit. The Rail Park I assume is the best place to film ? Great Video as always. :)

The rail park is not real good for video but it is for pictures. There is an open field across from the depot that is really good for video. The south bridge over the middle of the yard is good, you can pull over and take pics and video. Trains come into Galesburg five different directions plus the former Santa Fe line two tracks. You will never catch everything to many lines but that is the beauty of Galesburg.

I prefer Peck Park, as you have the former ATSF plus anything going North on Mendota or to Quad Cities. And if you come to Galesburg, spend a day or 2, then go to Rochelle for a couple more. Good days you could see around 100 trains each location.

Just Galesburg yard, the Chili Sub is the former Santa Fe lines Chicago to Ft. Madison. The Yard is former BN.
