This is the truth. Absolutely. The problem is that comedians like jim Carrey and bo burnham are funny and nobody takes them serioisly but its true. The Fam only gets famous. The fam is hereditary monarchy British fam. Economics is a family unit and the most basic and effectice unit is the family. The Hereditary Monarchy is the mob, the mafia, the cartel, the gang, the la costra nostra, all that shit. No matter what this guy says you wont believe him. People just laugh and nobody listens and its like fuck em. Dude us trying but nobody believes him. In the end nobody will listen.

He's not wrong. I've found that chasing for success is gonna let to a helluva lot of disappointment. However, if you work on the things you love for the process itself, then you'll never be discouraged by any lack of success. You're either born into fame or you luck into it. Every single celebrity you can think of either A.) had a family member in the business to get their foot in the door, B.) Had a rich family member paying for living expenses so they could full time seek roles, and/or C.) got extremely lucky by being in the right place at the right time and got swept up to fame by the favor of the cultural zeitgeist. There is no actor who "just worked hard and got where they are through blood and sweat and tears."

what im getting from this when he said “take a deep breath and give up” is that you should give up wanting to become famous. instead, focus on what truly makes you happy and improve the skills you want to get good at because “being famous” is not a dream nor a goal, but an aftereffect of the skill you have acquired and, most of all, luck. so give up on being famous and just do whatever you want to do.

What I take away from this is that the fame should never be the focus of one's life. If you're passionate about something and you're good at it, the fame won't matter. And if fame does come, it won't, nor should it, change what gives you happiness and fulfillment.
@InstApl1 Жыл бұрын
I love it when he is so real that the audience doesn’t know weather to laugh or not. I’m sure that’s part of what gave him anxiety (am I funny enough) but it’s a key part of his comedy!
@ZachBail Жыл бұрын
Bo is speaking on the new ways people get famous. You can still do it the old way. Perform locally build a following. Spread a bit, deny any contracts presented to you. Grow more, keep denying contracts till you're so big you can't be ignored. Many musical groups did this like Greenday and Metallica.
@carinajuliet3148 Жыл бұрын
You don’t understand what he is getting at. Every famous person you see got there because of 99% luck, Green Day was lucky enough for an executive at a “major” label to hear one of their albums that was passed from a friend to another friend and then they had all the funding a band could need to release an album with advertising and now ties to other famous bands immediately. If that didn’t sound like luck I don’t know what is, what about every person who put 10x their life and time into music and never made it, it’s not skill it’s luck, skilled and unskilled musicians both get lucky, the skilled musicians are the ones who exhaustingly pursue fame and receive nothing. Your goal should not be to become famous, you will grow tired of your hobby if that’s your sole purpose of it. You grow passion and love for the things you create, and allow that to bring you happiness, fame is just the cake on top. _____________________________ “An artist who creates for solely fame will never be satisfied An artist who creates because it’s just what they wanted to will always be satisfied” Both of those statements are true regardless if both of them became famous. Bo has talked a lot about this topic a lot in interviews and when he and other entertainers/artist talk about imposter syndrome it comes back to this, because they don’t think it is fair they receive all of the attention. The system is rigged.

I don't want to be famous. Fane seems like it sucks. I just want to write books and live off writing. That doesn't require being famous. It does require success, but reallu not as much as people think. I only need to make a 1500 to 2000, a month to survive. Three to four to be truly middle class. That dream is somewhat more doable. Living off your art is possible. Being famous and a millionaire is much harder, and no one really needs that anyway.
