Hansa Teutonica is SIIIICKKK! I like how your channel covers older games too and reminds us of some of the EXCELLENT older games out there.

Re: Hansa Teutonica, I think if you liked the East map, you’ll like the Brittania map even more. HT is my fav game of all time, and Brittania is my favorite map. It’s definitely not for beginner players & it does seem a bit fiddly when you first learn it, but I promise it really isn’t bad. It’s mainly just wrapping your head around the “permission” rule to build in those other regions. The permission is only granted by building offices in certain cities. It also uses the sea routes just like the East map. And finally there is some simple area control for the different regions. All in all, Brittania adds a really nice brain crunch to the game and I highly recommend it! (Plus I love the visual appeal of the Brittania board). Hope that helps! ✌️

You should try Faraway with the official Advanced variant of choosing 3 cards out of 5 at the start. It mitigates the luck factor and makes the experience better. The game can be very harsh if you have really poor starting hand and you wont be able to get anything valuable in the first rounds. I have thought even drafting the starting hand. I have played over 200 games of Faraway on BGA, because it is so fast yet very thinky for such a short game. It's great! Kahuna is other game that can be super harsh and punishing expecially for new players. You will probably lose your first games 13-0 against more experienced players. And last round can be VERY miserable, if you are far behind already. I wish the game would end little sooner, if you are too far behind. For example at the end of 2nd round, with score 3-0 or if you control no islands etc. But according the rules it ends only after 2nd round if you dont have any bridges, which never happens. On the other hand the game can be very swingy and the board presence can change drastically in a short time, if you are not careful, so there is a possibility for a great comeback. The tight games of Kahuna are amazing, but unfortunately not every game is tight and the experience can be very miserable when the other player is dominating. Still great game and great design!

I also having the same feeling on Faraway… The game mechanics looks nice but restrictive. I am keeping myself away from it as of now. I recently played 2 Japanese games and both were such awesome games - 1) Catsle Builders which is a trick taking game and 2) Harvest (from For Games) - both were a blast. I think you should check out both games.
