1:40 The son can snap at Dad all he wants but the Dad was doing it right. Too often I see these small boats come in too fast and break backs. This Dad knew to stay at the pace of the wave and ride it in. That's how you do it boaters -- smooth sailing!!!

I dunno, the dad not only had his passengers in the bow making the boat the bow-heavy in choppy seas, he also stuffed it, soaking his wife and son. At least they had lifejackets on, kudos for that, but they should have been amidships or in the stern, not the bow, in those conditions.

@@Niftynorm1 Technically it is a no wake zone although I do agree the currents make it difficult Although I’m sure that twin outboard boat is equipped with trim tabs so she could have got the bow up at a much lower speed, but I’m wondering how do you know the woman was good looking? Tough call at 4:00. He would probably get upset over just about anything. The gal driving the blue center console had her boat on plane which is faster than the "Slow Speed - No Wake" restriction within the canal. The current in that canal is raging at times so boats need to use some throttle to just make headway. Thing is, if she were to slow down, that boat would throw even a larger wake. Like I said .. tough call. Ohhh I miss the days when I regularly transited that canal. At times its better than rides at Six Flags 😁 And Wavy Boats .. I hail from Point Pleasant, NJ 😊

@@Niftynorm1 It sounded like dad was apologizing to the boy as well. I'm not sure who the captain is on that boat.

I wonder why drop point hulls are so popular in this part of the world. Here, we only use them on lakes, flat water. They are terrible for bar crossings.

Hardly any of these boats would've made it through the old Rt. 88 bridge against this tide. Well, maybe the Whalers......

4:00 worry about yourself and look where you´re going 😂 The other boat just maintained a safe controllable speed for them in these waters.

I remember the old 88 bridge in the 70s . Wood pilings and super narrow . In a 15 foot glastron tri hull with a 60 hp merc . Yung and dumb . More for fun you no believe.

I've navigated this canal many times over my boating life i'm guessing that most of this video footage is on a weekend where the boating traffic is at its peak volume, combine that with the wicked current and wake wash is what your seeing, additionally some of those boats have no business there and should have stayed on a non tidal lake or river.
