BOAT LIFE questions | Have we bought the WRONG NARROWBOAT? | Episode 9

In this episode we wonder if we have made a mistake and possibly bought the wrong NARROWBOAT. Then we found a way to solve the problem on our TINY FLOATING HOME.
We have a great cruise back up the River Avon from Bristol to Bath and see a KINGFISHER IN FULL FLIGHT. Michael makes a batch of our special BOTANICALS gin using our own grown chilli's.
We have a problem with swans in a lock and Jackie manages to successfully navigate her first tunnels!!!
We go to watch Elvis and sadly say goodbye to our good cruising mate.

I slice fresh ginger and then freeze it - it is very juicy when it thaws and I add it to drinks like ice

Hi there 😃 we came across this video today, we always watch narrowboat videos and are subscribed to many, we have to say that we absolutely enjoyed your content and really love the music you choose it’s so relaxing 😌, we enjoyed you both so much that we have just binged watched all episodes 😊, I personally am a frustrated narrowboater, I really want to do what you two are doing but my wife is not so keen yet!!…( working on that situation 😉)…she loves the narrowboat life and we have been on our friends boat for a week on our own, and like you say in one of your videos the “ Water “ tends to draw you back to it, really looking forward to watching more of your videos. Nice video guys , l take it now you have tge seat sorted out yiur narrow boat is fine 😉.... funnily enough me and my good lady wife went for lunch down at a pub called the Jolly Sailor ( used to be the Lock and Weir, in Saltford. On the way to Bath , and a Narrow boat (l think it was more of a barge as it had a steam powered engine) came through the lock their as we were eating our meal. The back of the pubs garden backs right onto the lock , l managed to get a couple of photos. Anyway enjoy your journey on your own narrow boat . Apart from going g through all the locks it seems very idilyc 👍

Hi Jerry. Yes the seat is all sorted and our view is great. It’s really secure and we feel safe sat up there. Sounds like a really interesting boat you saw whilst having lunch in Saltford. Why not a small camera at the front? Linked to a phone or some other screen? Just a thought....

Hi Karen. Thanks for your comment. Yes we’ve thought about that and it’s maybe something we’ll look to do soon, We use a DJI steady cam at the mo but will also be getting a GoPro so maybe we can use it as you suggest. 👍❤️

Thank you our friend Gary built it for us. To reach the throttle you step down, lots of body movement when you have a boat, no sitting and relaxing all day 😁

Hi Nigel. Thanks for your comment. Yes we too are amazed at the growth of the Nando’s empire. We have to say we do like a Nando’s! We will check the ads out on YT. I was actually in the Royal Navy not the RAF. That said.. my (Michael) father was in the RAF during WW2. I’ll bet you have some real stories about your time in the RAF during the war. Please take a look at the other videos on our channel as in one of them we explain our back story and I show a pic of one of the Royal Navy ships I served on. 👍

Thanks Jim. Your right. We all choose our boats and I’m sure a lot of us then think afterwards that we wish we’d gone for this or that but we make do as we have done with the seat which transformed our view. Thanks for your comment 👍
