Boat sinks and gets rescued in the St Lucie Inlet Crossroads

A small boat was heading in the St Lucie Inlet located in Stuart Florida. It began taking on water, and they weren't able to make it to the ramp. The boat was sinking fast, but the bow stayed afloat. A local live bait boat was able to tow it back to the ramp at Sandsprite park. The hero of the live bait boat is James Cronk whose nephew was on the sinking boat. All of the passengers were able to jump on his boat to safety. Great job James!!

Bad deal, 3 days.... Glad they had insurance, I have towboat us up here. Sand Sprit, that’s where we launch from when I visit there. Be safe Wayne

That is scary. You can never be too careful constantly checking things like bilge pumps, thru hull hose clamps, etc. Glad they were ok!

I agree I’m paranoid checking everything before a trip. Apparently there was a hull patch that gave way to a 3” hole. Previous owner didn’t mention it I guess. Crazy

Flats boat and rough water inlets don't mix. At least everyone's safe. Good he had boat insurance. Most important thing he said and don't forget." Anything can happen out on the water."

Definetly sucks. I was talking with the towboat captm, and im surprised they had it insured. He was saying the reason cronk pulled it in was because it was sunk when they got there and it would have been a salvage job for them which is big money and insurance sometimes doesnt pay.

That’s what I figured Mike. Hopefully they were smart and had that motor looked at immediately. Definitely lucky it happened when they got back inshore.

Boat had a patch in it that broke free my buddy James Cronk who sells bait out of st Lucie inlet rescued them and towed the boat back

Newly subbed by the way-I lived in that area back in the mid 90s and i miss it terribly.Im now up in Eastern Long Island fishing In water that looks like Root beer catching very little compared to you...thanks for trolling me thru my old fishing grounds👊🏻

@@CProFishingWithWayne it’s a small world man-I’ll get back down there sooner or later--wife and I are both getting tired of the cold and short boat season.ill trade Moriches inlet for St Lucie inlet all day long but for now-I’ll hope to catch big fluke and stripers and enjoy that. Pull that boat down to the keys -would love to see some of that area again-we used to go down there a lot too👊🏻
