All kinds of boats in Jupiter, FL Palm Beach County transiting one of the most dangerous inlets in Florida. This inlet is very similar to the world-famous Haulover Inlet. These boats can get themselves in trouble easily if they don't use the correct speed and choose the right lines at Jupiter Inlet. Some weekends there are more awesome boats going in and out of Jupiter Inlet than a boat show. Enjoy the video and don't forget to hit that like button to support the channel.

I got my Captain's License in 1993. It is astounding to see some of these recreational "captains" put their vessel, passengers, and self in such precarious situations. And in many cases, the vessel is capable of handling such conditions, but the captains lack of experience coupled with ego, testosterone, alcohol, stupidity, or just ignorance makes it an absolute miracle there aren't more people hurt or even killed.

A 50-60' Viking, Albemarle, Bertram, Bayless, etc are hard to beat for comfort and class. They are heavy, fuel guzzling, slow, expensive works of art that plow through rough water with authority and control. Center consoles may be more popular these days, but for those of us that are serious about blue water fishing, they are unbeatable in my opinion. That 60' Viking plowed through 8' waves and 4' waves with little fanfare and I doubt few onboard knew the difference. I used to run a 28' Bertram and even on 8-10' days we could fish effectively. We usually didn't run charters unless it was less than 6', but even 4-6' was doable is the clients didn't mind. Center consoles are great at speed, but when they are trolling or stopped, and it's 6+ waves plus chop, unless the CC is 40' over larger, you're taking a beating. Unless you have a SeaKeeper I suppose.

Sometimes that is by far the best option. The inlet was very deceiving this day.

The blue center console outside the inlet is actually a SeaVee 450z but it does have a similar look to an everglades

On days like this, it does not smooth out after you get out the inlet and past the bars. It means a rough day all the way around, anywhere you go. Done it many a time, tho'. I had cousins down that just had to get some offshore fishing in before they went back to the Midwest. Told them to get plenty of Bonine, and out we went. Put down the Eissen Glass but everyone still got wet to some degree. Did catch fish trolling but when we got back inside, I asked them if they thought it was worth it. Mixed opinions even though they fed the fish (over the side several times each). A couple of them were, "Never again!" Jupiter Inlet can be real nasty at times - especially during the times my snow-bird cousins like to come down to get away from the cold, snow, and 40+ days without seeing the sun. ;)

Nice thing about your channel is that you shoot other vessels besides CC's - love the convertibles, Keep them coming! Would be good to see a Bertram rolling out of the inlet....guess I am a wee bit biased (being I have one!). Great video!

One of the issues with Jupiter Inlet is the waves never really come straight in. Always seem to be at a 30-45 degree angle. Catch big seas with an outgoing tide and it really creates a lot of big waves in different directions, very confused seas and then once you get a couple hundred yards in it smooths out like any inlet. That stretch along the jetty’s can be very dangerous.

If it's even slapping around a good sized cat like that Freeman it's _WAY_ too rough for this mid-westerner! Even the sportfisher well off-shore was getting bounced a lot. Not sure on the trim for the Seafox, he handled it well coming back in.

Trim was fine for where he was. Keeps from stuffing the bow. He lowered it when past the rough section. When a wave from behind catches up it lifts the stern and puts you in a world of hurt if the bow isn’t up.
