In this boat tour video we show you our Kalli from the inside and the outside! She is a 1987 Prout Snowgoose Elite, 37 feet, and a sexy, affordable, orange blue water catamaran.
Join us as we escape normal life with the goal of sailing and traveling as full time liveaboards on our tiny home on the sea.
We are a young couple that have chosen to live the dream and live with no limits as we try to sail our Prout Snowgoose 37 Elite - a 34 year old orange catamaran, around the world - Sailing Yacht Kallisto.

I love that Prout just made the same boat over and over but different sizes. Our Prout Quest is identical. But I like the extra space of the snowgoose!

Yes we once anchored next to the basically exact same boat as Kalli but in smaller 😊 was fun to see the both next to each other

I've only just started renovating my little Colvic 26 and I saw an abandoned Prout Elite 37. I was tempted by it but thought better of it.... then I saw your video 😂😍

Thank you for the tour. I have not purchased one of these but have been looking at them. Seems to be many in Florida close to where I am. They all have that strange outdrive. I have never seen one designed like that. Used to Volvo or Mercruiser outdrives that I have never seen on a sailboat before. Happy Trails.

Love it!!! It’s got it’s own challenges, but then, when I look at how I overcame them, I always have a little laugh at them! But bloody good fun! Did I tell you about the time I forgot to turn the raw water feed on and started drifting towards million pound yachts on the Isle of Wight? Burnt the impeller out, night was colder than my ex wife’s heart, didn’t want to put the heat on, because it would drain the batteries, and not start the engine!! Serious anxiety at the time! But now I laugh at it!!

The New World Foundation was cultured on a Snow goose 34' until it was broken from heavy racing and traded it for the 37' (New). The captain took off for Biloxi Mississippi and on autopilot it made a perfect crossing and landed on top of the 1-mile sea out,,,sat on top of it for a minute and slid of on its way to Biloxi,,it was a perfect crossing except for the water rushing in the bottom of the hull,,,it was beached in the ship channel.

Could I ask you guys to make a video concerning the head. I own a Prout 37 and have no idea how to empty the tank, cause every time I get a pump out, hardly anything comes out. I’m stumped and hope you can help me.

Hi Guys, love the show, can yo rate a Prout Snowgoose as your first boat buy? you have done so much work on the boat and have sailed a bit as well, I'm moving to the UK and would consider buying a Prout if one is available, i'm well aware that one would need to do repairs and work kitting it out as one wants it to be. Thanx for the the show and keep up the good work, cheers Craig South Africa.

Hey Craig, thanks 😊 Yes we found the Prout to be a very easy and forgiving boat to learn on. And also on anchor we were more comfortable than a lot of other boats. But don't expect to be fast 😉 or at least we haven't figured that out yet 🤣

Love what you guys have done, and while on the hook! How big is the main stateroom bed? It looks like an extra large double? Maybe a Queen? Not that speed is everything, but it seams like your average is about 5.5 under sail in good wind? Do you think that's due to liveaboard weight, boat deign, or? Hey! Thanks so much! We put a European queen I think so 160cm wide and 2m long. I think we are quite heavy, but we are still figuring a lot out so operator error probably also makes up for a bit of lost speed😂

Hi! Yes these prouts were designed so that all lines lead back to the cockpit. Because of the bimini, the staysail is the only sail on our boat that you might need to leave the cockpit for.

That's NOT a Prout 37 "Elite", the Elites were a bit larger, and came with 2 Yanmar 2gm20 diesel engines with inboard gear boxes snd standard prop shafts with cutlass bearings... I know because I just acquired 1.

According to our bill of sale, tonnage placard, and build certificate it definately is a prout 37 elite 😜 many prouts were bought as just a hull and finished privately which means some have 2 engines, some have 1 engine and some even have an outboard engine in them. The model name is in referral to the Hull and deck, so it can be a elite model even if you decide to put a jet engine in.

Most Elites came with one engine and the Sillette outdrive, yours is a one off.
