Our longest boat trip in our 20 yrs of boating and first time staying at a hotel resort marina. Was it worth it? It definitely had more of a hotel vibe then the marina vibe we are used to as boaters (we did love the smoothies at the bar). Come along with us as we cruise in our Sea Ray 410 Sundancer on our boat trip to the Hyatt Cambridge Hotel Resort & Marina on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.

Great video. In the late 90s and early 2000s we went the hyatt for 4th of july for several years. I remember the marina being full and you can imagine how packed the pools were with a full marina! It was still a great time. Sadly it appears the blue point provision restaurant by the marina is closed. The food there was really good!!!!

Thanks! We were there on a weekday so I think the marina is more full weekends but you’re right, pool would be even more crowded! But at least a mix of more boaters. Restaurants we hit there were so-so.

My wife and I are just stepping up to an express cruiser (Chris-Craft 33) from a deck boat and your videos have been really helpful. Even though I am intimidated by the upgrade, I am super excited about the whole experience - so much so that I started my own KZfaq channel mostly for my family and friends to keep up with us. These particular videos are helpful for us as we plan to do overnights either on the hook or at marinas in the Chesapeake. Our slip will be on the Middle River, just to the west of Hart-Miller Island. Can't wait for spring! Thanks again for your videos!

thank you SO much for that - it makes our day to know you appreciate the videos! Congrats on stepping up - Chris Craft 33 is a great boat. You'll have an awesome season this year visiting new places - cabin cruiser definitely opens up more places to go & Middle river gives you nice easy access to so many places. And I actually think its easier with a bigger boat in many ways. Enjoy & thanks again - you made our day!

That’s one of big reasons it’s a good boat trip - especially if you have kids. So many marinas have 1 small pool. 😊

Thanks! We swim in the bay all the time further north above Rock Hall much more brackish & no jellies... but this area was definitely loaded with them and we wouldn’t swim there. I suppose locals may learn to deal with it? 🤔

Boated on the Sassafras for years- in Skipjack cove and Sassafras Harbor Marina. Your home port Georgetown Marina by chance?

How do you like the Argo app? Better than Navionics?

I’ve never used navionics to directly compare but from what I understand Argo is a cleaner app, easy to use, and has autorouting - also free! They keep adding a lot of features too. We still had our chart plotter on but phone gave us route to follow and easier to zoom in & out for detail. One thing we need is a phone or tablet holder for next season!

.... that resort has not done anything for the town of Cambridge. Once you get there .... after speeding up the Choptank River through the fleets of small Jr's sailboats and waterman working and pi**ing all the locals off ... no one leaves the resort and spends their $$$'s any where else ... and there are lot's of neat places in Cambridge to explore and miles and miles of beautiful roads and countryside to explore on bicycles ... Oh, welcome to the Choptank/Tred Avon in August ... you can walk on the Sea Nettles ... (I race on "Chesapeake Bay Log Canoes ...)

That place needs a lot of work and a serious refresh. Recommend they also work to clean up all the bird shit everywhere. IMHO --- NOT WORTH all the fuel you'll burn to get there!

Agree docks were awful.. it’s fun as a stop on a multi leg trip - kids really liked it- but definitely a long cruise for us & wish they would make it nicer for boaters
