We were there last month, and this video is still very accurate. Pierre's have maintained that friendly attitude, it's a refreshing break. One thing worth remembering is the way the Province have told all of these small marinas that they cannot call their stream or lake water potable unless they meet guidelines. Only a few marinas meet those standards, so you'll have trouble finding water that is technically OK in the Broughtons. At Pierre's, they tell customers not to drink the water coming from hose bibs, and they sell distilled water in the store. However I bet that staff drink their lake water every day, and many customers bring an inline charcoal filter to use the water for drinking, anyway. Typically stream and lake water in the area has a tannin color, harmless but present. We found the best stream water in the area at Kwatsi Bay, but even that marina doesn't meet provincial standards. Having grown up drinking stream water all my life, I think that is fine. The surprising cost for water, showers, and power was an eye opener all over the area, but you have to consider how difficult it is to provide those amenities so far from civilization, especially considering how short their working season is.
