Suzuki throttle controls are touch button to go into neutral which is below the Throttle. One slip of the hand and you don't realize you're in neutral. Honestly a bad design for such a great motor.

So can any of these comments, or the video for that matter, actually explain what the skipper is doing wrong here? Can anyone explain the right thing(s) to do? And if he comes up in speed then he's just going to launch the vessel. A Yamaha 350 hp outboard costs about $40k EACH or $120k for the three on this boat. Add the price of the boat and electronics, you’d think that people would hire an experienced captain for half a day to learn how to maneuver through such dangerous conditions. The insurance deductible was probably more than the training.

That turn was a bad idea, with worse timing. And his cute little open boat has become a "salt water tanker", transporting maybe 40 gallons (so far) of salt water to the needy folks of Florida.
