Sailing & cruising full time from country to country is the absolute DREAM for many! But it also takes a huge toll on the vessel. Which if not properly looked at, can cause major $$$ problems, or worse, fail you while you're out on the high seas.
In this video, I take a look at the wear and tear my boat went through over the past 396 days of active sailing and cruising. To be clear, I don't sail 24/7. I spend most of my time at anchor, relaxing and enjoying what sailing has brought be. But even that can take it's toll on the boat.
So sit back, relax, and take in this unique perspective of a sailboat tour!

👋🏼New Here?!?👋🏼
Hello & welcome! I'm Daniel aka "Adventureman Dan." I've been living on the edge, from one adventure to another for the past nine years. Stating in Central California with my first GoPro, through SoCal, Baja, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Alaska and throughout the whole USA. But for the past five years on my sailboat "Adventureborne" I'm open to unlimited possibilities of where I can go, and what I can do!

Just found you, and you are using a great lure...I am hooked...I have been working on my New Hampshire built Mariner 36 for 2 years now and almost ready to go...you're terrific for being "very real" as I appreciate your reality offerings, so I don't go off with unrealistic expectations, but am still looking forward to all, all the experiences....so thank you very much!

Great mindset. I always wondered about other sailing chanels which stay for months, some half a year or more on the hard and renovate these boats till they look like new or better, instead of sailing. Most likely they do it for clicks and views.

Nice video; great approach and attitude towards a lot of the stuff. I've heard a person can get a chain sandblasted, acid washed and regalvanized; not sure the cost as compared to alternatives. I think I would ensure the engine and drive components are in tip top shape. Thank you. Happy sailing...

I can't tell which Volvo-Penta engine you have, but the newer VP engines in that size range have a monel heat exchanger which is why they don't have a zinc. Just for your information, there is no exhaust passing through the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger transfers heat from the engine coolant to raw water. Once the raw water passes through the heat exchanger it is injected into the exhaust at the exhaust elbow.

I lock mine in place so it does not spin. It's bad for the engine to be free spinning.

Dan did you use 316 stainless on the bow shield??? it doesn't look like it. Your chain is shit and need replaceing with better quality glavanized or Stainless. The Caribbean is brutal on metals.
