Bob died exactly 20 years ago than his beloved announcer Rod Roddy died in October. RIP Mark Goodson, Johnny Olson, Rod Roddy and now Bob Barker and his wife Dorothy Jo. RIP to all of them.

According to Wikipedia Mark Goodson died of pancreatic cancer. His illness had to be very sudden and unexpected as he appeared only 3 months before for the premiere of TPIR’s 21st season (1992-93)

He certainly wasn’t the only game show personality to die from pancreatic cancer: the two well known Jeopardy well known Jeopardy hosts Art Fleming and obviously Alex Trebek who did some work for Goodson also passed away from pancreatic cancer

I didn't know that Mark Goodson wasn't with us anymore until I was in my mid-20's.😢 If I had heard about it on the news or the Hollywood report shows at the same day Mark Goodson passed away, I would have been crying like a little girl!!😭 Mark Goodson was my 'childhood hero' because of the 'happy shows' he put out on TV😢😭

I have no use for Card Sharks. Press Your Luck (created by Bill Carruthers) was far superior to Card Sharks. I watched two episodes of Card Sharks, couldn't get into it, and have no desire to watch any more of it.

It's so sad he died before the holidays a month before his 78 Birthday but luckily he made it to the 20th Anniversary. Todays his 30th Memorial in 2022 I wish they still mentioned him in the 50 anniversary. Can't believe this was 30 years ago now he was a Legend creating the Game Shows after 1956. Glad Bob Barker still around he's 99 now.

Goodson also created Press Your Luck, Now You See It, and Super Password; the late Rod Roddy was the announcer for Press Your Luck (except for when he was sick; when that happened, Charlie O'Donnell took his place by taking a break from Wheel of Fortune).

No idea if Ray acknowledged Mr. Goodson's death on Family Feud, but Ray's days as host of FF were now numbered as it was rumored that Mr. Goodson was protecting Ray from those who wanted to get rid of him as the host of FF.

Word Unheard Agreed, it's as if Mark Goodson's own son Jonathan sold his father up the river when he sold Mark Goodson Productions in 1995 & 1996 to what would later become Fremantle Media. I have to disagree with your assessment regarding current "TPiR" announcer George Gray. Like the sorry state "TPiR" finds itself in today, George flat-out sucks as announcer. Bring back Rich Fields!
